I liked this place. It's a guest house rather than a hotel. The bathroom was spotless, as advertised it was down the corridor but private. The owner and staff were helpful. The price was good and it wasn't in a red light district

I booked this Guest House only 4 hours before arriving there. The price seemed very reasonable, so I expected "basic." This wasn't the case. A very well kept guest house. The room was spacious and clean, towels were replaced and the bed was made every day. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was fantastic! They could easily add 50%... More

The other reviews have explained it extremely well. It is a nice house with great rooms. The rooms had individual kettles so you could have tea at night, which I particularly liked. There is a bus stop very close and is very convenient. The shower was great and had instant hot water and solid pressure. The room also came with... More

This is a great place to stay. We had a stylish en-suite double bedroom, the house was warm and cosy with the grandeur you expect from a large Victorian house. Breakfast was excellent and nicely served, using good quality ingredients. The staff and Jim the proprietor were helpful and friendly. Appin House is located just a 10 mins bus ride outside... More

I stayed alone for 2 nights at the end of January 2015, booked on-line the day before I travelled and chose Appin House based on TripAdvisor reviews. It was definitely the right choice! Despite having booked and paid for a single room, I was offered a complimentary upgrade to a very nice double (they were not full). The room was... More

I stayed for one night between Xmas and New Year and wanted somewhere reasonably priced and Appin House ticked the box. I was warmly welcomed by the owner and directed to my room which was a single with separate private bathroom. The room albeit compact was clean and fresh and the bathroom nearby was wonderful with a roll top bath... More

Excellent. From the initial welcome from Jim to the wonderful breakfast included in the price. The rooms are spotless and the beds comfy. Convenient for the City Centre, busses run every few minutes. I recommend you leave the car and get the bus. This is definitely the place we'll be staying for visits to Edinburgh. We will make sure to... More

We recently spent a wonderful 3 nights at Appin House and didn't want to leave! The house is lovely, in a beautifully quiet area and our bedroom was really spacious and airy. Breakfast was great, with lots of choice, served by a very friendly lady ( Linda, I think ) Edinburgh is only a 20 mins walk away or you... More

Beautiful B&B made to feel very welcome. Rooms are immaculate too couldn't find a speck of dust. Breakfast is good and service by Linda cannot be faulted. Would recommend anyone who wants some peace and quiet to go there to relax or catch a bus which is around the corner to the busy Edingburgh town centre £3.50 for a day... More
