When we arrived early in the morning knowing the room would not yet be ready but planning to drop our bags Denise so kindly offered us breakfast. It was heavenly to be treated so well after an overnight flight. That was only the beginning....a great location, comfortable room and bathroom, recommendations for restaurants and things to do plus the added... More

What a wonderful place to stay. Denise welcomed us with a wee dram and the best shortbread I have ever had. My Scottish husband was delighted by the "full Scottish breakfast", and ordered this every morning he could. Denise went above and beyond by preparing us a "breakfast to go" when we had a very early train to Gleneagles, at... More

A wonderful room with all the comforts of home. Great breakfast and the area around the bed and breakfast was great for walking to attractions, public transportation and great restaurants. Our host Denise, was very accommodating and her breakfasts were very filling. She had a wide variety of snacks in the room as well as at the breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed... More

Denise has thought of everything hair dryers, hot water bottles, robes, umbrellas, adaptors – you name it, it is in the room! Fresh flowers and scotch welcomed us and the mints, chocolates and shortbread were restocked every day. The linens were so comfortable and the bed was a dream. The shower was the best of our trip, hot with strong... More

We arrived by train in Edinburgh and took a cab to the B&B. The cab cost about 5 pounds. Thankfully we decided to take a cab because Edinburgh is hilly, like San Francisco. While it is a very short walk from the train station to the B&B, the first half of the walk is up hill which I didn't realize... More

Denise is the consummate hostess where everything happens with ease, whether special dietary requests or insights of where to go and where to eat. The location couldn't be more convenient--within walking distance of everything you want to see or do in Edinburgh but just removed to avoid the crush and the noise and perhaps the tourist hubbub. Her list of... More

We stayed at 20 Albany Street at the end of the Edinburgh festival and were royally treated by Denise (and Rollo). Never having been to Edinburgh before we had no idea where to stay for the final days of the festival and had heard of 20 Albany Street from the tv. It was a resounding success and Denise could not... More

We stayed at this B&B for two nights in Edinburgh. It was very elegant, Denise is wonderful, and location and service were superb! Denise was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations as well as general information. Staying in one of the Georgian buildings in New Town was a plus! We would definitely come back again if in Edinburgh.

A special B&B conveniently located in the heart of Edinburgh's new town run by Denise, a friendly and perfect hostess. Treated as a guest in her family home which was kept immaculate and full of homely touches. We were offered the use of a super large sitting room where we were served tea on arrival but as we stayed during... More

So happy we chose 20 Albany Street for our base in Edinburgh, rather than a hotel. This B and B has it all, a great location, walkable distance from the castle, and all else in this great city. We stayed in the James Craig suite and it suited our needs very well, a comfy king bed and updated bathroom. And... More

Thank you so much for your very flattering review, it is much appreciated and I am pleased you have taken home some good memories of your stay at 20 Albany Street. Thank also for pointing out the lighting in your room, a very useful suggestion and I have changed the bulbs in the bedside lamps to a much bigger wattage.... More
