Rooms standard Travelodge offering - stay seriously compromised through no air conditioning in guest rooms. July 24th outside was 22C room temp in excess of 35C. Unable to switch rooms as hotel full, next to no ventilation, small window let in street noise but no cooler air. Less than 2 hours sleep achieved. Avoid.

Great rooms, good (paid) WiFi, great friendly staff, free parking, great food, very easy and quick check-in and check-out. If I'm in Edinburgh again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I have never stayed with a Travelodge before, but I'm now considering them for all my future stays.

I stayed here on business for one night. It has excellent bus routes directly in to Edinburgh and further on to Leith so you can see the sights of Edinburgh on the bus for only £1.50 single or £3.50 for a day ticket. The rooms are standard Travel Lodge but clean and tidy and the staff are incredibly helpful. The... More

Just spent 2 nights at my first Travelodge. Recommended by my uncle as an ok place to stay in an otherwise overpriced summertime in Edinburgh. Sadly not an experience to be repeated....Awakened both mornings before 7pm by the smell of cigarette smoke wafting through my slightly open (no air con) first floor window into the room. The area outside here... More

The staff are friendly and approachable. The room is clean and pleasant. The location is good for the city just a short bus ride away (you need the correct change for buses) bus stop right outside Travelodge so park up in the free car park and hop on a bus (£7.50 for a family day ticket). The staff constantly check... More

Shower and bed were excellent. 3rd visit here as I love to return to Edinburgh. Very handy if you are driving up from England as it is not very far from the A1/and the 720. The bus stops outside hotel and information in hotel about buses to Princess Street and Leith walk. Buy a day ticket if you intend to... More

Great rates, great location & A1 friendly & efficient staff! Having looked about for a cheap stopover for five of us en route to the Borders (to avoid TITP traffic), this Travelodge @ Cameron Toll looked ideal. I knew the area, it's within an easy bus trip to the city centre (& beyond...including the zoo etc) and the reviews on... More

EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY! Overall a very good stay indeed. Excellent friendly helpful staff, spotless well maintained rooms. Good location for numerous buses into the city and Cameron Toll shopping centre. Only minus point was that quite a few of the staff were always smoking at the back entrance with cigarette butts littering the floor.

Hotel is newly refurbished so room was ok and bed very comfy. The shower was excellent nice and powerful. The staff were very helpful. We stayed on a Saturday night and after a nice meal in town we fell into bed and were woken at 4am by screaming and shouting coming from nearby bus stop. Apparently this happens regularly! Be...
