I have stayed at the Rose Street Travelodge in Edinburgh twice, once in winter, once in summer, and will certainly return, and have already recommended it. It could not be more central, it is quiet and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The bed was exceptionally comfortable.

As travelodges go, it does what it says on the tin. We had a large corner room, which really was a lot of wasted space. The hotel itself was very hot, there was no air con, however, they had kindly placed a fan in the room prior to arrival. The shower had very little pressure but the location cannot be... More

Stayed here during the Easter half term for an overnight stay to enjoy the sights of Edinburgh with my son. The room was a corner one, overlooking the shops and bars of Rose St. It was clean and neat ( although the bathroom needed some DIY attention ). Windows didn't open, so it could get a little stuffy. I assume... More

We stayed two nights - coming and going from Oban. It was perfect for this purpose. The hotel was two blocks from the Waverly train station and right in the heart of Edinburgh's tourist attractions. We were able to walk to the Royal Mile, the New town etc. Lots of interesting places to eat and drink close by. The room... More

Very clean and comfortable hotel right in the heart of Edinburgh, five minutes walk from station. Plenty of food options nearby. Try The Standing Order just round the corner for breakfast from 8am, wonderful interior of old bank. Staff at the hotel very pleasant and welcoming.

If you are needing a good nights sleep then this is not the hotel for you. It was very noisy, not from the predicted public thoroughfare as expected but from bottle skips being emptied into bins and squawking seagulls. It was also a hot evening, however, due to the noise I couldn't keep the window open and as there was... More

I did not gel with this hotel at all, finding uncharming and strange. The reception was disspiriting and seldom staffed, and there appeared to be no public rooms or place to eat breakfast. There was a pervassive smell of stale cooking however that seemed to linger all over. The room, overlooking Rose Street was noisy and hot, and the TV... More

This is a typical Travelodge in the centre of Edinburgh. Waverley mainline station is only 5-10 minutes walk away and the Princes Street tram station less than 5 minutes walk. The hotel is in the heart of the city centre with the vibrant pubs on Rose Street but I found the room quiet with no issues with noise from outside.... More

This Travelodge has had the new look, which certainly makes Travelodge a pleasant place to stay again. Unlike other hotels, however, Travelodge doesn't offer a sit-down breakfast option, and I could have done with one.
