Good location and not far from the railway station Room was clean, small but okay. No bath just a shower. Shower was okay. Not able to rotate shower head. Would say there again. The price was reasonable.

We first stayed for 3 nights returning after a few days for 1 further night. The accommodation was basic but satisfactory. The location was good. However, I carelessly left a bracelet on the table in the room which was apparently not found by the staff. After several phone calls asking them to look for it and let me know I... More

Having stayed in some grotty Travelodges over the years I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. It was smart, clean and comfortable. It's in a great location, surrounded by bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is great, being just by Princes Street and just minutes away from many amenities and attractions and within walking distance of Waverley Station. The room was excellent, light and airy and clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant, helpful and accommodating. I had an excellent stay and would certainly stay again. Definite value for money.

I was here for a short stay and didn't expect much from the Lodge. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a corner room, which was very spacious and light. The location is also quite good- central and yet in a quieter street. The room and bathroom were very clean. All in all it did not... More

It's a Travelodge.... You know what your getting when you book a Travelodge. This one has the added bonus though that if you were to find the one ring that rules them all, you don't need to go on a Frodo Baggins style trip to Mordor. Just keep it in your room and it will melt anyway. Windows open, heating... More

We booked here for a last minute stop in Edinburgh. And it's in a great location, but with No parking... We were given room 404, which is at the top of the hotel at the back, so very quiet compared to some of the other rooms. I would think. Staff were helpful and very friendly,,, so other than the hotel... More

If you want an ideal location for your viist to Edinburgh, look no further than Rose Street. Hotel very convenient for attractions, a Weatherspoon Inn three blocks down for a cooked breakfast for two for under £6.00. Extremely comfortable large bed and soft pillows. Staff very friendly. Would definitely go back if ever in the area again.

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
