Stayed at this hotel on Monday 8th Feb - it's clean, quite basic (no problem with that), comfortable and the Airlink 100 bus from Edinburgh Airport drops off and picks up right outside the door (25 min journey). The hotel is within a couple of minutes walk from Prince St., Edinburgh's main shopping street and within a 10/15 minute walk... More

This hotel is in a central location, very close to the Edinburgh Castle. There is a bus directly from the airport to the door of the hotel and vice versa, which was so convenient and worth staying there just for that aspect!!! Nice rooms and good customer service as well :)

I stayed here recently and found the room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There was also a bath in the bathroom.. There is a breakfast buffet which was lovely in a nice relaxed environment. The staff were friendly and would book again

Amazing for the price. Very nice and comfy bed, clean bathroom, well equipped rooms and nice decor. I would definitely book again if I went to Edinburgh again. Also if you book directly on their website you get £5 voucher for every night you book. You can spend them on breakfast or refreshments from the reception.

I stayed here with my partner after a wedding at the nearby ghillie dhu. When I go to a hotel, much like online shopping, I always read the bad reviews first. Some reviews just seemed ridiculously bad for a 3 star hotel but in contrast the good reviews were very positive so I decided that on balance it seemed reasonable... More

I wouldn't hesitate to go back here - the staff were friendly, the location was better than we could ever have imagined and the rooms comfortable and clean. It was great value for money for our short break and the perfect location to explore Edinburgh!

I stayed here at the end of January to meet a friend and sight see for a long weekend. The hotel was ideally situated and a 10min walk from castle, shops, restaurants and transport links including the tourist hop on hop off bus tours. It was the weekend of storm gurtrude so the weather was awful but my room was very... More

Normally I stay at tune hotel at Haymarket which is also a budget hotel but since this hotel got a nice price and way more positive reviews I stayed here with my boyfriend. I really wished I hadn't. The lady in the reception is friendly but the smell in the hotel isn't nice. It's like someone else said, it smells... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
