What a great hotel. Had originally booked the Osborne Hotel but after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to look for somewhere else. And we're so glad we did. Great location (on quite a busy road, but you couldn't hear the noise and it made getting a cab easy). Murdo and Kay were lovely hosts - it was... more

This guest house has everything you would want for a stay in Edinburgh. The room was spacious, spotless with excellent en-suite facilities and the breakfast was beautifully cooked. The owners, Murdo and Kay, were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome and offered many tips to make the most of our stay. The location was easily accessed from... more

Murdo MacLeod and wife and English bulldog give you a warm welcome to their spotless home. Our bedroom was larger than most and the "ensuite" was a full bathroom that Americans are used to. Breakfast choices were varied and excellent. Mr. MacLeod has bus passes for sale and gives you information on every part of Edinburgh. For 70 pounds a... more

Apart from a shortage of well located powerpoints in the room, our stay here was fantastic. Rooms great, breakfast great, in other words you have to be very criical to fault this location. Murdo and Kay are great hosts, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Close to city, public transport at the door, 5-10 minute walk from Haymarket... more

Stayed here for 3 days, this is the 2nd time we have stayed at this B and B, lovely rooms, delicious food, easy access to local (and long distance) public transport, walking from the B and b to the city centre very easy due to that part of the city being relatively flat, local shops 5 mins walk away. Would... more

Great location, close to downtown Edinburgh near Prince and George Streets. Located right on local bus line for 5 min ride into downtown. Hosts were very nice, offered lots of ideas on tours, local sights and information. Very helpful and friendly. Accomodations were updated to current comforts, yet retained the old world charm. Rooms were very clean, spacious and updated... more

We had a wonderful time in Duthus Lodge. The house is really beautiful, Mordor (the boss of the house) was wonderful with us and we could share many experiences with him, talking about many things (some of them mainly music and also Barcelona, where we're from!) making us feel at home. The room was wide and clean, and the house... more
