We've just returned from a wonderful weekend in Edinburgh. Weather was lovely, edinburgh gorgeous. We went on the Auldreekie Haunted vaults tour and graveyard visit, it was ok! We also visited Mary King Street, this was great. And the city bus tour is a must if you want to see all the sights in comfort. The apartment was lovely, well... More

Arriving at the apartment (Number 1), the first thing that hit us was the smell. There's a very clear damp problem in one of the two bedrooms which the company had obviously tried to mask with air fresheners and diffusers (folks, it doesn't work). We were only staying for three nights so we didn't complain, but I certainly couldn't have... More

Could not fault our stay at these apartments! Starting with the customer service we received as soon as we arrived, was a horrible day and we managed to get into the apartment early, which we were very happy with. Apartment is lovely, very spacious, perfect location (just off princes street), comfy bed and has all ammentities you would need. Would... More

I cannot fault these apartments! The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk from Princes Street and Rose Street but on a nice quiet road with just a few nice bars on. Our apartment was amazing; comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and kitchen, clean throughout and very spacious. It is a bit pricey but we'll worth it for the fabulous location... More

Great location, flats have all amenities required but bit shabby dirty carpets and holes in the walls. Lovely sash windows but very noisey. Have to collect keys from a different location to the flat. Few changes would improve the flat and make it a great place to stay.

I am late for my comments as we stayed in this apartment beginning of August. When I read the comments from Alison R. I must say: they do not learn a lot. We had the exact same problems with both showers: inadequate water pressure, on the second day no pressure at all, and if we had water it was not... More

We selected the Young Street apartment because we wanted high quality, comfortable accommodation for our trip to the Edinburgh Festival. The apartment was comfortable and clean, and the location was great. But since it was described as 'luxury' we were extremely disappointed that we were unable to take a hot shower during our stay; the water pressure was inadequate in... More

I have stayed at this apartment under 2 different management teams, I have got to say the first was better. We did not get off to the best start, due to Lack of info and communication from them re key info. When we got there there was no hair dyer, house keeping should have checked it was there, but saying... More

Mid September 2012 we stayed in the ground floor apartment. It was sooo good... comfortable + with everything we could possibly need. The location is spot on - Edinburgh is such a walkable city and walk everywhere we sure did! We loved returning here during the day and again in the evening. We loved it so much we chose to... More

This is a great apartment in a great location. A car is not needed as the apartment is so central. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Although marked as a family holiday, the two children are adults. It is a bit of affordable luxury in the city centre with plenty of space for four adults.

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
