We only stayed for one night and the hotel had everything that we needed. It is located right next to the train station, but has double windows so we didn't hear any noise from outside. I booked a 2 bedroom but they upgraded us to a 3 bedroom. The apartment was really spacious and provided everything needed for self catering.... More

4 of us Stayed in a two bedroom apartment and there was plenty of room. You could easily fit 2 more and with cots or rollaways 2-4 more. . It was spacious and the staff was very attentive and gave us Dinner and tour suggestions and they called the room after we checked in to if everything was satisfactory. Perfect... More

It was my first time staying in these apartments. We had 4 apartments between our group. The apartments were gorgeous, I was keen to move in to be honest! Great facilities, large spacious rooms, toilets, storage areas and seemed to have everything you would need. Iron, washing machine, TV, speaker dock (although for the older iPhone model). We were actually... More

A lovely hotel that is central to most of the hot spots in Edinburgh. Upon arrival the hotel does not look appealing from the outside but after a smooth checking in and given the keys to the basement apartment, OMG the apartment was ‘lush’. When we arrived it was clean, it provided everything (except for washing powder..lol) such as plates,... More

This is a perfect place to stay for a family of 4 to 5 ( with kids) on a sight seeing tour to Edinburgh / Scotland. We stayed in a 2 bedroom service apartment with kitchenette attached. It proved to be very handy to make 'kiddy Indian' dishes. At the sametime the service apartment(s) is very near the popular tourist... More

The staff were charming and helpful then it all goes down hill ... The rooms are tired and worn . The overall impression of the suites is one of neglect and lack of TLC . The cost is extremely high for such a low standard of accommodation ... Maybe the proximity to the city centre is where he premium comes... More

The location was perfect for our touring needs in the city and close to our tour company for our tours out to the highlands. The staff onsite was super friendly and helpful. The room was ready early and upgraded for free. There is a cool terrace on the roof. Would have spent more time up there but it was quite... More

From the outside it's not appealing but OMG... The rooms are spacious, clean and very central to everything. Easy access from Haymarket and Waverley station. One cannot complain, if you do, you got issues. Highly recommend👍👍👍

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighborhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighborhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicenter Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
