Very nice room with en suite bathroom. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was the best I've had. They cook your breakfast for you when you order it in the morning, and you can choose between different options. There's a bus stop right outside the house and the bus journey is 25 minutes into central Edinburgh. We really... More

This place is fabulous, you have the crazy hustle and bustle of the city and then you go back to your room for peace and tranquillity. Hospitality was wonderful my daughter and I felt so at home here and we can't wait to return :) :). We stayed in the family suite and it was so comfy and cosy x

Emerald Guest House is tidy, family friendly, and the owner, Ann O'Connor, is very helpful and amazingly hard working. The family room we were staying in was comfortable, cosy and nicely decorated. We could park easily in the street though there are only three lots available in front of the guesthouse. The next day, Ann prepared for us a good... More

This was a great find. The house is right at a bus stop. We had a car and never had any problem with street parking. Ann & Jim do an excellent job caring for their guest. If you like to explore all day and return to a nice quiet room at night Emerald House is for you. I could go... More

We were so fortunate to stay at the Emerald House on the last two days of our Scotland visit last month! Ann is a delightful woman and very helpful guiding us to the fifteen minute bus ride into the center of Edinborough. Her breakfast is amazing ranging from the traditional full breakfast to scrambled eggs with salmon and a delicious... More

Stayed here for one night. Upon arriving I found the advertised 'private parking' to be the guest house driveway with space for three vehicles. One car I presume was the occupiers vehicle and two other cars. I called to speak with someone to find the advertised private parking. Having read other reviews and also the owners comments to the reviews... More

The position of the guesthouse is good, as the bus stop is opposite the house. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Consider asking for a room that is not facing the main street as the traffic, and pub dwellers can contribute to a noisy night. Breakfast was good and tasty.

Great position in Edinburgh, to park and take the bus opposite the house to the main attractions, where parking is a problem. The house is comfortable and the rooms are well furnished and clean. The lady of the house enjoy interacting with the guests at breakfast, which is ample and typical of a Scottish breakfast!

This is a great b & b with a bus stop out your front door, about 20 minutes from downtown Edinburgh. The rooms are spacious, the beds very comfortable, with wonderful puffy pillows, and the bathroom and shower great. The decor in every room is very attractive. The breakfasts are wonderful: the full Scottish is more than you can eat,... More
