From arrival to departure could not fault the staff. All very friendly, courteous and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Didn't eat at the bistro in evening but if the food is as good as breakfast then we missed out. Will definitely stay here again the next time. Can't emphasise enough how good the place was. I've stayed at... More

Stayed here one night and was pleasantly surprised! Visiting Edinburgh with friends for an overnight stay to see the Xmas lights etc. The rooms were spotless and the breakfast was great! Staff were very polite. The town centre is about 20 mins on a bus. Would definitely stay here again. Great bar nearby to sit and chat

Rooms warm, clean and pleasant. Smaller than Travel lodge. All you need for a short stay to attend an on campus conference. I have stayed in other buildings where you ate with all the students at breakfast which was like being in a noisy motorway services and you had to walk out side which in the rain was not pleasant.... Good and clean accommodation, staff were friendly. Couldn't get kippers for breakfast, but what they had was excellent. Shower space a bit tight, but manageable, however, made the whole bathroom floor wet. A couple of biscuits would have been appreciated to accompany the marvellous tea making facilities. Overall enjoyed my stay.

This Hotel was really good. The staff were welcoming. Our room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was outstanding 10 out of 10. Lots of choice and help yourself. The Hotel was only 15 mins from the city centre. Good regular bus service from just outside the Hotel gates. Would certainly recommend Masson House.

I arrived here by default at 11.15pm due to checking out of the appallingly bad Britannia Hotel in the city centre - after 90 minutes online try to find accommodation. Last resort in fairness and the room was basic but........... Friendly, likeable reception staff. Breakfast - 5 star food and service. Catrina and her supervisor were exceptional and a credit... Clean basic accommodation located inside the grounds of the student halls, tasty breakfast, kind accommodating staff. Out of the old town which is quite refreshing as it gets very busy and a good access point to Arthur's seat and holyrood park.

This building is located on the university campus and as such can be deceiving to find. If you come to an entry to Pollock halls with a guard shack, you’re in the right area. Front desk appeared understaffed as there was a line in the reception area both when we tried to checkin and again at checkout the next day.... More

I was booked a room in Masson House for a conference. Masson House is essentially basic student accommodation that is in desperate need of a renovation. Although the sheets weren't visibly dirty, I ended up with bed bug bites. The walls are also very thin and I was able to hear my neighbour snoring, which disrupted my sleep. The breakfast,... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review, we are sorry that your stay didn't match your expectations. We take issues of cleanliness very seriously and have had pest control investigate the room in question. We are pleased to say that not traces of bed bugs were found - what was found was an insect larvae that had come from the... More

On reading some reviews of Masson House I almost booked alternative accommodation, I'm very glad that I didn't. If you are happy with Travelodge rooms then you will be very happy with the rooms at Masson House. We paid £69 for a double room that included breakfast and parking. You would be hard pushed to get a similar deal elsewhere... More
