Located in the University campus it reminds me the good old days of my hostel life in university. Connected by a few bus routes it is easily within reach from Waverley station with 15-20 minutes. It is a green and quiet place, and the staff members are friendly, cheerful and helpful. The room is compact but it has everything you... More

Masson House is fabulous. it was built as student accommodation - each room has ensuite shower room, tv, desk, wardrobe, heating and opening windows. The rooms are clean and the bed really comfortable. I slept like a log. The view out of the windows is of trees and gardens and it is very peaceful with no issue of loud noise... More

Excellent! Not your normal run of the mill hotel as this is based on University campus. But standard of service, efficiency and breakfast were second to none! The room was compact but had everything you needed. The mattress was very comfortable but would suggest they use mattress protectors. Loved the blinds on the windows to block out light to sleep.... Price was very good including free wifi, parking and breakfast (buffet & cooked). It seems to be reasonably close to the centre and had excellent views of Holyrood Park. There were however no facilities once breakfast was over and no bar. The rooms were reasonably sized with a large wet room. I belive the building used to be a hall... More

What to say first positives a really good breakfast if a little overcrowded and busy. Fantastic service by Scott after being shown to a seat from queueing by a Duracell bunny of a supervisor. That is it room was dirty from hair in bathroom everywhere to under the bed. Room size adequate building a way from where we had to... More

Myself and my partner stayed here for 5 nights B&B recently at a total cost of Sterling£352 which we thought was very reasonable indeed for what we got. The room wasn't huge but it had all the features a traveller might expect, i.e., clean with a nice comfortable (soft) bed, en-suite facilities with wash products (shower curtain only but drainage... Situated in the outer parts of Edinburgh, the hotel was basic and functional. Everything worked, as it should, but had no spark or flare. The internals of the hotel reminded me of my old University (college) accommodation, that is the standard you are getting. The reception staff were very friendly and offered good assistance, but the breakfast staff were "get... More

We stayed in the Masson House for a 2 day visit to Edinburgh, specifically looking for a good value hotel near to the city centre and most importantly had car parking. The hotel is fairly easy to find, just to the south of the city centre, on the university campus (which you must enter via security point), the building modern... More

The positive parts: there is free (first come first serve) parking available on site, the location is within walking distance to downtown sights and activities and the breakfast is extraordinary. The hotel is located on school grounds and was built to serve convention attendees. It is a dormitory. The walls are thin, all of the doors slam when they close... More
