10 mins South of the city cente by bus or a 20 minute walk, Auld Reekie is in the relaxed Newington area. Our top floor room had tv, tea/coffee and an excellent shower. The place is spotless and lovely and warm too. Breakfast in the front room was very good indeed (a genuine cooked Scottish breakfast) and owner Rhona is... More

We stayed for a long weekend and thanks to our hosts we had everything we needed - great French toast for breakfast, a room large enough for us and a three-year old boy who likes to jump around and a bus stop round the corner to go to all the places we wanted to see. There's a nice Indian down... More

My father and I made a short trip to Edinburgh for three days. Rhona and Brian are a very lovely couple who gave us a warm welcome on our arrival. The rooms are most comfortable and leave nothing to be desired. The breakfast comprises fruit salad, cereals, traditionally cooked Scottish breakfast and much more that keeps you going for the... Just stayed eight nights at this lovely Guest house 10 minutes from the city centre. Rhona is a wonderful host! We came to celebrate my husband's birthday and she had a birthday banner and candle on his specially ordered haggis. She so accommodating and knows all there is to know about getting around Edinburgh. Breakfast is to die for! The... More

We came here on our honeymoon having booked at the very last minute. We didn't know what to expect but got a stay more comfortable than any other B&B I have ever stayed in. Rhona was accommodating at all times, full of useful information and ever ready to fulfil obscure requests (like keeping some wedding cake chilled). Our room was... More

I spent a week-end here in June with my wife and granddaughter, the guest house was very good and Rhona the landlady was very helpful as was the other ladies taking care of us. There is a very convenient bus service minutes from the front door that takes you in and out of Edinbrough II would recommend this guest house... More

Great stay for 3 days in August for Festival. Friendly hosts (Rhona is great fun) and hearty breakfast. Easy access to town on foot (about a mile and a half), by bus (regular service) or taxi. I was in one of the top floor rooms which was clean comfortable and quiet. Will definately come back and would reccomend.

We considered the Auld Reekie Guest House to be our 'home away from home' during our stay in Edinburgh. Great room -- spotless and comfortable. Excellent cooked to order breakfast. Perfect location. Close to the city center, but far enough to avoid the noise and traffic. Bus stop was only a block away and Rhona helped us figure out the... More

This guesthouse is well appointed, clean and funtional. Rhona is a true character and makes you feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and she is always cheerful even when busy. The breakfast is simply perfect and is cooked to order. The b and b is ideally located and I would recommend it to anyone.

The Auld Reekie Guesthouse in Edinburgh is perfect for an authentic Scottish experience. Rhona is a real character and the Guesthouse is homely and comfortable. The rooms are spotless, the bathrooms luxurious, the breakfast is delicious. Only a short hop on the bus, or low cost cab fare to the Centremake it a perfect location to avoid over inflated city...
