Edinburgh has some great attractions - the Castle, the Scottish Museum, the Scottish Parliament etc - but this isn't one of them.
A small number of rooms are on show, at a price of almost £10 - but what isn't mentioned in either the flyer or at the ticket desk is that no photography is allowed inside - so the visit is of debateable value compared to the likes of Versailles - lot more to see, no photography ban.
Perhaps things might be better if the Queen's Gallery was open - but like the gardens, it wasn't when I visited
I guess tourists are happy to pay this sort of price given the Queen uses the palace from time to time, but I left with a feeling of being ripped off by a lack-lustre attraction.
