Visiting Edinburgh on a two night stay for my birthday and booked St. Giles apartments. Stayed in apartment 1, a one-bedroom apartment. I'm not sure where to start praising enough. The location is astonishing. Right on the Royal Mile, with stunning views of St Giles cathedral right in front of the window and Edinburgh castle just a couple of minutes... More

Walk out the door and you're 100 feet from the Royal Mile. Easy stroll down to Princes Street. Very comfortable and clean two bedroom apartment with everything you need. Our wifi worked but not very well at all (slow and intermittent) so we reported it to management. Other than the wifi, we highly recommend this property.

What a great location, right on the Royal Mile, overlooking St Giles Cathedral, wish we had known about these apartments last time we were in Edinburgh, will definitely stay here next time, if available that is! Superb one bedroom flat, but easily sleep four, if using the sofas, lots of space and ideal for leisure or business stops.

We received a very warm welcome at reception when we picked up our keys the staff were informative and friendly. I am struggling to write this review if I'm honest there was nothing wrong with the apartment as... More

We stayed only one night in a beautiful one bed apartment. We had spent three nights in Edinburgh on our way up to Inverness, Wish I had known about these apartments. The location on the Royal Mile is superb. Even though the apartment looked out on the Mile it was very quiet. The appointments in the apartment were excellent, every... More

Staying in the three bedroom apartment, we could not have asked for a better location. The apartment was a good size and clean. The welcome was warm and we found the staff very helpful. It was a bit stressful unpacking the car with nowhere to park and I was glad that we were returning the car straight away....best not to... More

For a central location that is really quiet you can not do better than these apartments. Just off the Royal Mile they are clean comfortable and well equipped, we had a secure parking space with ours in the middle of Edinburgh! Very reasonable, spacious and contemporary we would stay here again. The bed was fabulous very comfortable. My only criticism... More

After the warmest welcome we were directed to our apartment which was about 300m from the office. The apartment was clean and very well lit during the day. The view on the Edinburg castle is magnificent. The kitchen was well furnished, and a box of welcome shortbread cookies and some mineral water in the fridge was also included. The Johnston... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
