I was lucky enough to get a room with a fantastic view of the Castle and it looked stunning lit up at night. The room (309) was lovely, a reasonable size, a big comfy bed and a very nice bathroom with good quality toiletries. One gripe however is that they have 'mood lighting' which basically means the room is far... More

The Point Hotel is excellent value for money. We paid 50 GBP per room per night (no breakfast). The hotel is in the old town near the Grassmarket and the Castle. The people at the reception were really nice and helpful. The room wasn't special (just a basic hotel room), but it was spacious enough. The bathroom is basic. The only... More

I got this hotel for a one night stay at an incredible rate for its location right in the heart of the pubs/clubs/restaurants. It was actually cheaper than the vastly inferior Travelodge! the reception area and exterior of the hotel are lovely, as are the adjoining bars which i've used before. The corridoors leading to the rooms are quite bizarre,... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel after your stay with us. Although I am delighted to read that your stay was an enjoyable one, I am disappointed to read that your room was not as clean as it should have been. The systems and procedures in place should have highlighted any issues prior to your arrival... More

We have just returned from a two night break at The Point Hotel and found it to be ideally located in the centre of Edinburgh. The facade and hotel foyer are very impressive on arrival as is the restaurant and bar. This building, originally built as a Co-Op Store in 1890 has been renovated in a very modern style which... I never leave reviews but I simply had to with this one! I stayed at the Point Hotel recently for 5 nights and would 100% recommend it to anyone planning to go to Edinburgh. The price was amazing considering the quality of the rooms, location (less than a 10 minute walk to grassmarket, edinburgh castle as well as princes st),... More

We found this place to be very ideally located, just a short ten minutes from the Grassmarket area. The castle and Royal Mile aren't too far away either. The room was fairly well sized, and we had a nice view of the main street with big bright windows. Clean warm bath. The staff were friendly. We also got a good... More

Thank you for taking the time to complete the online questionnaire after your stay with us. I am delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and highlighted the need for a different colour for the corridors as they are too dark. This will be remedied over the coming weeks as we look at changing the colour to... More

we stayed last weekend, and it was lovely. we spent best part of the evening between the bar and the restaurant having a jolly, and the staff certainly made the night. Jordi was lovely in the bar and really helpful. We had dinner one night in the restaurant as directed by reception on check in and the food was fantastic.... More

Quite simply this was awful. Room was very dirty and the sides of the carpet were very dusty. The bed.................ive had nightmares of this horror, imagine a slab of concrete with a pillow, then those 2 slabs were pushed together into a pyramid shape and maybe then you could imagine the comfort of this bed, if the fringe festival had... For £119.20 without breakfast this wasn't worth the money. The room on the 1st floor had window's from the floor to the ceiling and unless the curtain was closed there was no privacy from the office opposite. The curtains had paint on them, the carpet was tired, worn and stained. The room was freezing cold on arrival and took ages... More

We stayed at the Point Hotel for 2 nights until Hogmany and thoroughly enjoyed the experience having dinner at the hotel on the first night.
