We will definitely return to Ashgrovehouse. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly owner and made to feel very welcome. First impressions were of a beautifully maintained period property overlooking an old college and grounds. The family room that we were in was absolutely spotless, with lots of space and very comfortable beds and furniture. The breakfast in the... More

The B&B is easy to find on the main road only 5 minutes walk from Haymarket railway station in the west end of Edinburgh. I arrived really late but they were very helpful. B&B was clean and comfortable and I was a single person in a large triple room on the top floor. I would recommend this B&B for good... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. We needed assistance from the owner in getting directions to take our rental car back. She was very helpful-even let us use her phone to call. She was very clear that if we needed anything all we had to do was ring the small bell on the front desk. The building was centrally located... More

We booked 2 double rooms for 1 night and on arrival were given the keys with no explanation and told our room numbers and that the rooms were up the stairs. . . . . . .and that was it. He told us where breakfast was to be served and the time with no other explanation. We presume there was... More

My sister and I stayed at the Ashgrove on 3 stops in Edinburgh in April for a total of 8 nights during April. Owners and staff well all friendly and helpful at each interaction, breakfast fast and delicious. The only small issue was that wi-fi was spotty in one of our rooms, not unexpected in the old stone houses. Location... More

My two favourite things were the cleanliness (which was outstanding throughout) and the friendliness of the owners and staff. The decor is a little dated but it is a beautiful old building and has quite some charm. It is also very convenient and considering the price (includes full english breakfast) I would return.

I was invited to a baptism in Kirkcaldy but was unsure if I would get beyond Edinburgh as I arrived quite late so I stayed here. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Haymarket station (itself about 5 minutes from Waverley, in the City Centre) and with trains every few minutes even on a Sunday. There is also a... More

I wanted somewhere convenient for sightseeing and this was a good compromise, hotels in the centre being very expensive and without car parking. It is 15 mins walk to the Castle end of Princes St. Frequent buses run from stops outside to the centre at £3.50 a day ticket (frequent also to the airport). Really good carp park on a... More

This hotel had free parking and free WIFI within walking distance of the Princess Street and Castle. It was bright and clean with a pleasant entrance and we had a very nice welcome by the staff. The room had a private bathroom with an effective shower and comfortable bed. In general it was a very comfortable and reasonably priced hotel... More

Spacious accommodation in family room, bit dated decor bathroom rather small but clean. Nice breakfast plesant waitress - free parking, not too far out of edinburgh can walk 20 mins or bus reasonably priced. Only saw owners on arrival and departure but helpful if requested.
