An impressive Georgian building in a very attrative and quiet location but very convenient for Haymarket with its cafes, good public transport, etc. - also within walking distance of Princess Street. Clean and comfortable with good breakfast available in the cafe-bar.

I stayed in the Travelodge in September in a double room whilst visiting Edinburgh on business. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was basic, but functional. I liked the old wardrobe in the bedroom. For somewhere this close to the city centre there was very little traffic noise, although on occasion I did hear the people from upstairs... More

Booked a family room as there was supposed to be 3 of us staying, glad the 3rd person couldn't make it...the third bed was just a mattress on the floor!! The room was massive surely the company could stretch to buying a proper bed if they are doing up their hotels!? Behind the bin had some leftover stuff from previous... More

Worst experience of a Travelodge. The room was double booked. When we arrived after a 4 hour drive we discovered we did not have a room and neither did 5 other couples in front of us, due to overbooking of the accommodation. Eventually a group booking was moved to another hotel and we got a room. I wish it had... More

Good location to the city centre. It looked more like a pension than a hotel. In 4 nights that we were there, every morning at 7am we were waked up by the doors and the noise of mugs clicking, that we thing were from the housekeeping.

Some key negative points. 1) No windows in the room would open and no fan in the room so very stuffy. 2) the toilet was very dirty. There was sick or poo on the outside of the toilet base. Evening meal and breakfast were ok. My room was on the ground floor near the lift meaning a constant noise from... More

A bit disappointed, I almost missed the building because it did not stand out from the rest. The flooring was squeaky, again to confirm how old the building was. I am accustom to staying in Travelodges that was fresh and new but this one just felt old and raggedy despite the cleanness of the room. I must admit that the... More

Plus's are that you are close to Town Centre, staff are helpful and our room was clean. However, we were on the top floor (with a lovely view of countryside) but had no water pressure to speak of, so shower was non-existent and even the water for a bath was a bit of a struggle. Squeaky floor boards so if... More

The hotel is very conveniently placed for the city, and in a quiet area. The staff were helpful and friendly, however the advertising blurb is a little misleading,as while it does state that there is no parking,it does not say that it is almost impossible to park in the vicinity, I saw a solo guest get a ticket while trying... We enjoyed our stay. Staffs were very good, well dressed, cooperative and caring. We had good sleep. Room was`good, clean and very nicely maintained.House keeping was`excellent. However, bath room articles and furniture holders need to be improved.
