We booked 3 rooms, 2 of which were ok! Our room was on the lower ground floor. Outside our window we had the outside ashtray area for a view. People outside smoking, every word was audible. Above us we had footsteps up and down the stairs and accross the reception area. Bed was one of those that one partner gets... More

This is in a nice old Georgian townhouse a short walk ( maybe 5 minutes?) from haymarket station. The rooms are clean... could do with a lick of paint. It looks like an old B&B or student lodgings that has been converted. The furniture is functional. The lift and the bar are noisy with revellers enjoying the edinburgh nightlife and... More

Travelodge is what it is...basic. This room and the common area was clean. There was food available as well as a bar. Not fine dining, but decent grub. The staff were friendly and had some good advice about places to see. They recommended local attractions and pubs. It's just a short walk to the center of Haymarket. More

We have stayed in this travelodge (and many others) in Edinburgh many times and, although the cleanliness and comfort of the facilities was not in question the maintenance of the fabric of the hotel was definitely poor. Room 101, which is the biggest hotel room I have ever seen, had 3 victorian candleabras each with 8 bulbs. Of these only... More

When i read the review of this hotel i was worried at what i may have let myself in for, however the hotel was much better than expected. The hotel contains everything you would expect from a travelodge and has all the basic amenities one would require when staying overnight in Edinburgh. The location of the hotel is also in... More

Having read the reviews on here for this hotel you'd have expected something similar to Fawlty Towers on arrival!! However, what we experienced was what any normal person would expect from a budget hotel. The staff were friendly, we were very quickly checked in. The room was clean, if a little dated. Admittedly, the drawers on the bedside table were... More

Booked this hotel for two nights while in Edinburgh for a course in November 2011. What a waste of money!! Room was filthy and cramped, television remote was broken and subtitles we're stuck on, one of the lamps didn't work, only one pillow on double bed, blind was broken and the bathroom was one of the worst I have seen......all... Thankfully only booked in for 1 night...Bathroom needed a good clean, part of tap was missing, hairs in the bath and toilet needed a good scrub. Floor boards were VERY noisy, opened bedside drawer which came off in my hand, cup was dirty and furniture stained...There is plenty Hotels around the area which I'm sure would be better than Travelodge. Located in quiet street about 5 minutes walk from Haymarket Railway Station. The hotel was quite adequate for the one night I stayed, the bedroom was cold, even although the radiator was on at full and there was no heating at all in the bathroom, which was perishing cold. The bed was cold and the bedroom was not double glazed,... More

I checked-in to this hotel on Tuesday, November 29th and stayed for 4 nights. On Wednesday the 30th I was out visiting family all day and returned to the hotel at around 22h30 to discover that I had left the key in my room. I went to Reception to be informed that the master key did not work for my... More
