Stayed recently for 2 nights. Owner recovering from operation so her daughter was on hand. My room was quite small and at the front, so a bit noisy as the street is busy all the time. However, there was a problem with my window so maybe it wasn't as sound proof as it could be. Also my TV was not... More

Checked out loads of different b&b's on the net for a short break to Edinburgh on a budget. Came across this guest house and took a punt on it. RESULT!!! Clean, light and airy, great breakfast, short walk to all of the tourist attractions, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, great value for money. I was a little concerned about the lack... More

Nice place to discover Edinburgh by foot (approximately 15 min walk to the city center)... The rooms are small but clean and cosy. The English breakfast was delicious, hosts very friendly and the building charming! Thank you! Sophie&Sebastian from Germany.

Our family of six stayed at Abbotsford Guest house and enjoyed being able to either walk or take the bus around the city. We had our elderly parents with us and the steep narrow stairs were a bit of a concern. So consider that a factor if you are traveling with anyone that has some physical impairments. Other than that... More

The room was clean and really quiet, the staff was kind and helpful, we really enjoyed the breakfast. The location it is just 15 minutes walking from the town centre, in addition there are a lot of pubs and restaurants close to the hotel.

We recently stayed three nights at Abbotsford Guest House with our granddaughter. Paola was a terrific hostess, breakfasts were wonderful and she and her family were so friendly and helpful. The room was en suite, clean, very large and comfortable. Very close to the attractions in Edinburgh. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for your great hospitality.

Quite a good B&B not very far from the centre of Edinburgh. The landlady was friendly, the room was nice and clean but sometimes quite noisy. Breakfast was quite ok, not too much to choose from, but the landlady's daughter serving breakfast was nice. All in all quite good value for money, but, being in a busy city, with less... More

We travelled to Edinburgh for Commonwealth Games and Fringe. Location, superb. 1 mile city centre. Easy walk, numerous buses. Accomodation was clean and well presented. Breakfast was a delight. Posh dinning room excellent food. Paola looks after her guests including good tips for tourists. Shops at the top of road selling everything you could want. That said Pilrig Road is... More

Abbotsford Guest House is one of the nicest B&Bs I ever stayed. It's easy to find by car coming from the airport. If you are lucky, you can park on the street, additional parking places are available just around the corner. The city is in walking distance, and a bus stop is around the corner. The rooms are well equipped,... More

A good, convenient spot within walking distance of the city centre and with ample on-street parking. A large, clean and comfortable room in a quiet location so we got a really good sleep! Some attention to detail was lacking, e.g. A torn curtain and stained carpet. A very small bathroom in our room. No real cause for complaint and the... More
