Large manor house out in the country on acreage, converted to B&B and flats. Very homey and comfortable. Fabulous view and historic grounds. Barrie and Olywn went out of their way to help with family history research and spent time above and beyond what was expected of B&B hosts.Very lovely people. Great fire and conversations in the evening. Definitely out... more

This house is just beautiful how you would expect it to look in its heyday. The views over the fields and distant Dundee and River Tay, from the beautiful gardens are fantastic. A quiet rural location but just 5 minutes from the city and access to Angus and Fife. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend much time at the house... more

A lovely couple that made us all, especially our young daughter very welcome. Wonderful evening meal and breakfasts next to a roaring log fire. A lovely alternative to a big city hotel. more

We rented the flat for £200/week. It was very nice, fully equipped, clean, and beautifully located in a character house built in 1826. Barrie and Olwyn are very welcoming and helpful. more

Barrie and Olwyn are great hosts and the house and grounds are spectacular. The rooms are a great mix of comfort and old world charm and the bathrooms are very unique and beautiful (wish we had taken some photos). The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Barrie and Olwyn are a fountain of information and have a vast knowledge... more

Can we come and live here please? This is the best place to stay, Olwyn and Barrie treat you like friends, are utterly charming (and the house and furnishings are too!). Breakfast is a leisurely affair - delicious food eaten with your hosts - and with a log fire if it's that time of year - sheer bliss! The bedroom... more

Duntrune House is a very nice place: historic building, beautiful garden, and a great overlook to the Dundee area. We stayed in an self catering apartment - inclusive all facilities you need for comfortable holidays. The hosts, Barrie and Olwyn Jack, are very friendly and open minded pensioners. In our Scotland round trip through 6 B&B and hotels - it... more

We arrived from our drive through Midlothian via the Forth of Firth bridge and easily found the Duntrune House tucked away on a lovely mount in the rural area near Dundee and Broughty Ferry. The approach is magical and sets one up for an experience that can only be described as "Scottish". We were met a the door by Barrie... more

Grand country house with roaring log fire. Wonderful bedrooms with period furniture - I would have liked to stay in every one of them. Friendly hosts serve one of the best breakfasts north of the border. Great green policy. Highly recommended. more
