I couldn't fault the place. The rooms were warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I stayed in room 9 on the ground floor which I was glad of as I have been suffering from sciatica so no stairs! The food was of good standard and piping hot and the staff very friendly, so welcoming. It was also in an ideal position... More

Just returned from what I can only describe as a wonderful New Year break at the Fishermans Tavern Broughty Ferry. My wife and I stayed for three nights over this period and found it faultless. The room we had which was room 5 was enormous. The staff were amazing from the manager to the housekeepers making you welcome and always... More

This was our third stay at the Fisherman's and like the other times we were perfectly happy with our room. It was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast is good and the staff very friendly. However, this time our sleep was completely disturbed by an incredidibly loud and inconsiderate couple in the room below us. It was hardly the... Great staff - check in was very friendly and helpful. On street parking. Tracey, the manager, recognized my name from emails about reservation. She told us about their 6 specialty draught ales (plus Guinness and Belhaven) and even asked the chef to cobble together a fish and chips for me as they did not have a full portion left. Arborath... We stayed here on our trip to watch the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. The room was comfortable, the pub was welcoming and the food was lovely. They even made an early breakfast for us on the Sunday morning so we could have a full Scottish breakfast before our day at the golf. The staff really made us feel welcome. Would... More

Just returned from a short break at the Fisherman's Tavern with a friend. We both enjoyed being part of the Fisherman's Tavern. The rooms were great and the staff are lovely and so friendly towards there customers. The bars are full of charm and ideal to just relax in while supping from an excellent list of ales. The food is... More

My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights recently and had a wonderful time. Great welcome, terrific beer and fantastic breakfast. Great base for exploring mega beautiful surrounding area, especially the pristine, deserted beaches.

I first found this pub back in 1981, at that time it was just a pub, no accommodation or food, just a really great pub. I came back in 1985 and 1989, all of these visits were work related. It was still a great pub serving real Scottish ales, with just snacks and no accommodation. This time I returned for... More
