I am all for small hotels and have spent the last ten years staying in many hotels whilst travelling on business. However this is one of the worst! Firstly hotel carpark is a nightmare to get in and out of and you have to park on a very steep slope. When I arrived the reception area looked like a building... more

We booked superior room with bathroom for £85 and were looking forward to fine dining and cocktails as a treat, the website does make the hotel look impressive. The room was very basic - the TV reception could only get Channel 5, there was no clock, no working phone, no computer port, the UHT milk was off and no biscuits... more

stayed in room 5 , the room itself was lovely especially with the view across the river but the overall finish to the room was very poor, the noise from the bathroom every half an hour was horrendous sounded like the washbasin falling off the wall, not too amusing at three in the morning.the tv reception terrible,we also thought the hotel was... more

nice, adequately comfortable hotel, very friendly staff possibly because we seemed to be one of only two parties there. No Wi-fi, phone also didn't work. Newly remodeled: very tastefully done, but whoever signed off on the remodel job should be shot first, then sacked. Flat paint is already showing every smudge, scratch and scuff; no finish on the headboard so... more

We ended up here having been bounced by the Landmark. Very recently refurbished and in need of some added bits just to make it perfect: in room 4 it needs a shelf above the sink and possibly some other surfaces as there is no where to put toiletries. Shower excellent and the loo makes some interesting noises due to the... more

Stayed here for two nights whilst on holiday. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and the hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately one of the reasons we chose to stay here was because of the so called "fine dining"restaurant. Someone needs to tell the chef that a menu comprising lasagne and chips, fish and chips, chicken and chips... more

We stayed here for one night only but had a lovely time. We wished we'd booked for longer. The staff were so helpful and kept the restaurant open (amazing food) just for us. We didn't want huge meals so we got 2 set menus between 4 of us and not only did they put the food on separate plates but... more

This hotel seemed like it was going to be great, and when I arrived, tired and grateful for a large comfy bed, all seemed wonderful. Unfortunately, I was kept awake by a loud plumbing noise coming from my bathroom, every half hour, on the half hour. Too exhausted to think through what I might do about this in the middle... more

Would not go back. The staff seemed to have better things to do than "serve". I felt like an intruder instead of a paying guest. It's a shame really, as it's a lovely building with great potential, but that's cosmetic. The rooms were nice, although a bit sterile. TV didn't work properly. Bar wasn't cosy so went to the front... more
