The rooms were large and clean and tidy but very old fashioned. We had to book what we wanted for breakfast and a time. We said 8.30am and got down to the dining room at 8.25. We were still eating our cereals when the cooked part arrived on the table on Luke warm plates. So the fried breakfast sat there... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and honestly it's certainly good value but of course you get what you pay for. The place is pretty old and every board squeaks which is of course to be expected. Rooms are of good size. Breakfast is pretty basic however the owners are very friendly and the place is well located.

En suite was compact, single shower cubical but powerful. The hotle in General is dated but clean and the staff afore doing a great job..!! Breakfast, you need to fill in... More

I spent the night at the Ashton Guest House last week - having stayed there a couple of times before. Whilst I could not put it in the luxurious, top notch category it always gives clean and comfortable accommodation at a VERY reasonable rate. It is at a convenient central location in Dundee and additionally there is free off road... More

I recently had to travel to Scotland on business. As I needed to travel around I choose Dundee as a base as it was central to the areas I needed to cover. I was looking for somewhere central and comfortable with WiFi and parking. The Ashton did not disappoint. Location was good, room was comfortable and clean, WiFi was free... More

Stayed last week for two nights. Found the Ashton to be clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Staff friendly and very helpful. Will hopefully be staying again when next in Dundee. Personally I found the location excellent being so close to the city centre and University. Large bright room with free wifi and parking. Five stars from me.Thanks Ashton.

We have stayed in many Scottish B&Bs and would rate this among the least enjoyable. The room smelled very odd and no amount of airing seemed to help. Obviously there had been plumbing issues as there were many dire warnings about flushables, and the toilet made a horrific grinding sound whenever flushed. The duvet was of an old red print,... More

I stayed here for 2 weeks and found the staff to be so helpful and friendly, the rooms were incredibly clean, warm and comfortable and the location and value for money were excellent! I would highly recommend the Ashton guest house and its sister, the Athollbank guest house (which I have also recently stayed in) to anybody looking for a... More

I have just finished a seven week contract working in Dundee, as like most you are booking accommodations blindly, well have no fear. My stay at the Ashton Guest House was excellent. The rooms are first rate and the breakfasts, well you only have to look at my waist line. Its friendly and a home from home atmosphere, Victor and... More
