I stay quite locally and used to be a regular visitor bit out is quite expensive and the last twice we have visited have had an extremely long wait. You can't choose a cake anymore have to choose from dessert menu so noone visits for coffee and cake. The menu had become pricey and it has discouraged locals from visiting... More

We stayed in the Lennon Boat house for our wedding anniversary. Such a beautiful location. The boat house itself is lovely little cottage placed in the middle of a fishing lake sporting beautiful views and peace and quiet. Very clean and tidy and very comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend if your looking for a romantic break. It's self catering so... More

We rented 6 cottages for a week in June. Cottages are well equipped and have beautiful views. The best part is the staff. Whether in the restaurant, pub or in the sports shop the entire staff was so friendly and helpful - you couldn't ask for better service. Some of the cottages could use a good cleaning but that didn't... More

Second visit but this time disappointing. Remnants of balloons still in gallery which were there a year ago!!! Cobwebs in evidence and lots of light bulbs not working. Outside lodge appeared neglected (rhone pipes overgrown etc). Service in restaurant exceptionally poor and meal disappointing. (Please bring back Carlo - surely he is worth his weight in gold). Instantly obvious that... More

We booked for 5 nights but only managed 4. Bed not comfy, lodge shabby, dirty pan in kitchen, dirty towels in bathroom. Restaurant menu was quite boring. Golf was fab but fishing rubbish. Left feedback but haven't had acknowledgement yet. So sad because I really thought I had found something really great. I wouldn't bother again.

Forbes of Kingennie is a little hard to get your head around. Is it a hotel complex? Is it a self catering place? The website seems a little unsure- and on arrival it was hard to describe. A new build it stands in beautiful grounds, although everything from the ground up is clearly landscaped. Like the lakes and the view... More

As a teacher,I attended a school prom here, and after reading such excellent reviews I was really looking forward to a magical night for the pupils in their last celebration as pupil cohort. The venue and location are spectacular, and the views from the room are fantastic, especially when taken on the outside decking. Many fabulous photos taken in posh... More

Stayed in Lyon and found it to be very dated and not very clean, grubby would be a good word, certainly not luxurious, the kickboards in the kitchen dropped to the floor when I opened the cupboard, (the clips were broken) the wooden floor in the living space/kitchen/dining space is in desperate need of sanding/polishing or better still a carpet... This is our 4th year staying in the Leannen boat house, it is sheer bliss especially when you open your bedroom door on to decking on a lake, the time we were privileged to have 2 swans come right up to us on the lake. The menu is very good the food superb and the scenery is just awesome.

Cabin is lovely ,more like a modern house .great dining space seating for six ,excellent kitchen facilities ,large fridge ,dishwasher ,etc. Best of all is the view from the balcony at front. We had one of the larger cabins first time ,smaller cabin needed larger fridge ,as floor level not so easy access.
