Stopped for the night on the way North. Really professionally run, with a restaurant punching well above its weight. Breakfast excellent, even down to Black Pudding. Only concern a threadbare carpet in the bedroom, but the good points outweigh this minor fault.

Only stayed here one night, however it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Had a huge bedroom with lovely views. The property is situated at the end of a cul de sac on a hill above the town 10 minutes walk at most, down to Moffat. Only noise to be heard was the chirping of the birds so ideal if... More

We stayed here after being at the Tour De France in Yorkshire. The room was clean and comfortable. The house is a period property and the decor is fairly in keeping with that (not particularly my taste but suits the house). The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The dining room/restaurant is pleasant if a little austere. However, the food... More

We stayed on the way home from a week in Scotland. We found it using the GPS. It was behind the main street there were some one way streets. Our room was in the roof space and had 2 single and one double bed. There was a sink in the room and then you left the main room and took... More

I wanted to stay here because the food sounded amazing and it really was one of the best meals I've ever had. The asparagus and bacon risotto was creamy but also tasted light and fresh, and the sea trout main course was amazing - cooked to perfection. We both thought the rhubarb 'Moffat Mess' with a sprinkling of oatmeal crumble... More

Very nice period property with attractive and comfortable room, all facilities you require and hosts are very accommodating, evening dried our wet cycling clothes overnight! Managed to get a table in the restaurant at last minute, food and service was fantastic. Breakfast also very good with fresh produce and lots of choice. Overall a great stay.

Stopped here for one night on our way to the Highlands over the Easter weekend. First impressions very favourable, friendly welcome. A five minutes walk from Moffat's High Street,in a quiet residential area and glorious views. There is also parking in a small car park opposite. Our room ( a twin ) was clean, spacious, and had very comfortable beds.... More

Booked this guest house last minute after failing to find a hotel reservation. So glad I did and so glad hotels in the town were full! The accommodation really is beautiful and the views from every window are stunning. Our room (which I believe is the smallest) was on the top floor in the eves of the house, and the... More

Stayed here 1 night and booked based upon the strength of the other reviews. The restaurant is really good, nice ambience, great quality food both for dinner and breakfast. The property is located in a really peaceful area just a short walk from the town. Lots of great walks in the area (Grey Mare's Tail is approx 20 mins drive)... More

We enjoyed a stopover here on the way up to the Highlands. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a view of gardens and the hills. Breakfast was first rate. What a lovely start to the holiday - thank you.
