A great reception from the moment we pulled up on our bike to leaving the following morning. Fantastic that the bike was locked safely in its own garage. Food was excellent and the breakfast was great. We can't recommend highly enough and will definitely stay again.

Excellent meal in the Buccleuch. the twice baked cheese souffle is superb but the steaks are just sublime.. Dog friendly, biker friendly, walker friendly. Says it all about the place-just oozes friendly. And the main man Mr Smith is just a charmer-especially with the ladies in the company!! Good host however and a fine meal in traditional surroundings.

We were on a biking holiday in Scotland so this place was excellent for our needs as your bikes are secured in sheds. The ownersd are very helpful and really friendly. The hotel itself is a bit shabby and could do with a facelift. Breakfast was delicious.

Two weeks ago myself and three other motorcycling friends enjoyed the friendly and helpful accommodation at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel, located in the centre of scenic Moffat. Presenting a review centred on the needs primarily of the motorcyclist's needs & perspectives, this location ticks literally all the boxes including affordability, friendliness (with a very pleasant welcome), helpfulness, and facilities -... We did not stay in the hotel but went for dinner after recommend cation from the guest house where we are staying. The bar is dog friendly. The staff were very nice and very efficient. The food was excellent pub food (homemade bread was a nice touch). They offered 10% discount as we were guesthouse guests... Was a pleasant surprise... More

Really enjoyed our stay, Staff very helpful and food excellent. Wife appreciated the hot bath when we arrived after the 250 mile trip on the back of a motorcycle in the rain. I appreciated being able to jet wash the bike and being able to lock it away in the secure motorbike garage provided. Will visit again next year

A group of us were cycling from Lands End, to John o' Groats, when some bloody awful weather hit us. The support crew in a Mini bus, called Moffat, & we were put up in the Church Hall, with The Buccleuch, feeding us. They were brilliant, nothing was a problem, including children or dogs. So relaxed. We were fed that... More

A bit tardy this review, but nonetheless - my husband and I stayed here for three nights in July, part of a two-week motorcycle tour around Scotland - and couldn't have been happier that we did. The hotel itself is charming, the staff is tremendous, the location is perfect as a base for some of the best riding in Scotland... More

Can't praise this place highly enough, I've stopped several times and the staff and owners cannot be more friendly especially if you're a biker. We turned up late after a 2hrs in the rain dripping wet. No problem, straight to the room to get sorted and do the paper work later. Don't let that put off you non bikers this... More

Stayed at teh Buccleuch Arms in June 2014 during our motorcycle tour of Scotland. helpful staff, upon arrival the receptionist ran our weilding keys for our own private motorcycle garages in the gardens. Clint who was part of the management was very helpful, getting us our first beer before we had even got our biking gear off, it was a... More
