Stayed one night on business, was pleased to see a biker friendly hotel as a biker myself but the hire of the boardroom also provided good business facilities. Staff were all very nice an helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Bedroom was clean and perfectly adequate if a little dated, shower was great.

Have now stayed at the hotel four times while on motorcycle tours of Scotland . Always made to feel welcome and the rooms are spacious clean and warm. The food is excellent and always fresh, and the facilities for the bikes are brilliant. Will definitely stay at the hotel again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Another great weekend at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel. Very friendly staff, good food in their lovely restaurant and a very cosy bar for a couple of drinks afterwards. Will definitely be back for another stay.

Every Easter time for the last 6 years I've taken a group of motorcyclists from the Newcastle Mid Life Crisis Bikers to this Hotel for a 2 night stay. This year there were 19 of us and yet again we were very happy with things and the hotel were very friendly and accomodating. It's not expensive and we certainly dont... More

We stayed two nights at the Buccleuch Arms whilst touring South of Scotland / Borders area last weekend as we have done previously over the last few years. Have to say that the hotel was as good as ever. Very friendly, warm and welcoming with a great relaxed atmosphere. Great place to chill & unwind. We had a meal in... More

Found The Buccleuch Arms through MCN and as they have garages for motorcycles at the rear of the property I thought ideal. After a 300 mile trip from Ullapool we were met at the front door by a chap from the hotel pointing us to the rear garages. Parked the bikes and in we went. So far so good. The... More

Hi begster, So sorry you didn't enjoy the stay to the level you wanted. We really do try hard. Sorry about the coffee machine and also sorry that we have to operate winter hours in these hard recession times. I'm sure the foul weather you guys had on your trip didn't help. I certainly didn't envy you disappearing off into... More

We stayed one night, checked in ok. The chap on reception was very helpful and friendly. The room over looked the main street of Moffat with all its snow. The rooms are pretty much as they were many years ago, as is all the hotel, which makes a welcome change from many of the hotels that seemd to have lost... More

Gave this hotel an excellent rating a couple of years ago but things have certainly changed for worse. Hotel is in receivership. Staff greatly cut. Attitudes not the greatest as they are under a heavy strain. Harpist - reason we went to eat there - is gone. Sorry to see a nice property digress so speedily.

Unfortunately this review is received with great sadness. Not because we are yes, in administration but because of the great efforts we have gone to to make sure we maintain the service standards and quality we have strived for over the years. The owners are still completely at the helm and there have been no reductions in staff. However in... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights over new year. I can only say good things about this hotel. The food was excellent. Generous portion sizes, delicious, varied selection, fairly priced and nicely presented. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and polite. The room was a good size with a comfortable double bed that provided 2 pillows per person.... More
