The hotel was chosen as it is in a prime location for motorcycling, and advertised itself as being biker friendly. Also one of our party had stayed there a couple of months previously. Upon arrival, it quickly became clear that the whole ethos of the staff is customer satisfaction. Having talked with the owner, I know that there are plans... more

It was my first trip to Scotland. My girlfriend and I were making our way slowly through Scotland and Moffat was one of our first stops on the way to Edinburgh. We spent a night on the way there and as a result of our experience decided to stop there on the way back. The serivce was first class and... more

I regulary travel the A74 between Manchester and Glasgow and I normally have a break in Moffat for an over night stay. The Buccleuch Arms Hotel, Moffat blew my expectations away, I walked in and was met by friendly staff and was immediately put at ease. As a single travelling business women I find this puts me at ease straight... more

We stayed for only one night but it was so good we would love to return before too long. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our Friday evening meal was excellent. The food is all freshly cooked and locally sourced. Taste & presentation was very good. The Dining room was great, with candles scattered about and a lovely lady playing... more

We carefully checked this hotel on the internet and booked on the strengh of the web site photos and reviews. The welcome was excellent and all of the staff were superb. However we all agreed that the decor was very tired and in urgent need of a refurb. The rooms are not as immaculate and spacious as they appear on... more

I decided to book a Saturday night at the Buccleuch as a treat for my partner, who had entered a photography competition and wanted to see his work on display. We've visited Moffat several times, have fallen in love with the former spa town and try to travel there at least twice a year. But while we've eaten at the... more

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. The food was quite good, but not exceptional. The staff service and friendliness was top notch. However, the overall state of decoration was tired and dogeared. Our room had a large water stain on the ceiling.None of the drawers and cupboards had fronts and doors, incredibly. The shower did not work. Stayed in the hotel as was at the classic car show in Moffat. The hotel itself was excellent. From the breakfast, the lunches and the evening meals, they were all excellent and good value for money. The hotel itself was very relaxing the staff really made the stay brillant as they were so friendly and helpful with any request. We... more

Arrived at the hotel feeling all Christmassy, on the way up to the Isle Of Arran. The town looked marvellous, twinkly lights and not too much tinsel and baubles. Staff in the Hotel were courteaous and welcoming. The room a bit iffy, but as we were staying just the one night we were prepared to overlook the dated decor. Had... more

We booked in to the hotel at the tourist board in March this year after a very long bike trip to Scotland in bad weather. It welcomes bikers and we found a very warm family welcome in fact they couldn't help us enough. Concerned about where to put the bikes and how to dry out our gear - we could... more
