Stopped for an evening meal with my partner. The squid was perfectly cooked & the bobowtey (?? Spelling!) was excellent & would recommend anyone to give it a try if you like spicey food. It was nice to sit in a pleasant room & not have loud music to spoil the evening. Also loved the sweet potatoe chips. Would visit... More

Fantastic meal on Saturday night, highly recommend the burgers, steak pie and his speciality curry (amazing). This was followed the following morning by... More

Dear gmc039, We are very disappointed that your review has come through four months after the event. I'm sure you can imagine how hard it is to investigate, react, correct and make suitable recourse to our customers. This is very difficult. Not with standing any of what I have just said it appears that you have enjoyed our hospitality in... More

The sunday lunch of roast chicken which was a very small boned quarter portion, along with 3 roast potatoes, carrots, and half a plateful of savoy cabbage, lacked any basic flavours. Seasoning seemed to be lacking in the meal. I have to say that it would not even class the meal as basic fayre. The chicken burger with cheese, was nothing to write about,again... More

Dear Desmond Thomas, Thank you for taking the time to do a review and to let us know that we did not meet your expectations. This is very sad and disappointing to us. We always look into every complaint as much as we can so that we can relate it to a time and a customer. On this occasion we... More

A warm welcome awaits anyone visiting this lovely hotel. It is an old building that is beautifully decorated while retaining the original features. Second time I have stayed here but first time since it has been totally refurbished. They have made a good job of the refurbishment and the place looks great. Staff very friendly and service excellent. Breakfast was good and evening meal was superb. Will be back in 2016.

Moffat itself is a lovely little town on the Scottish borders. The town square is very picturesque and there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. The Buccleuch has a very warm atmosphere and the food was superb. They do a build a burger which was very tasty indeed and reasonably priced. A very enjoyable experience .
