We were in Moffat for the Sheep Racing (like you do). We were very warmly greeted and shown to our immaculately clean bedroom - VERY comfortable bed, crisp white bed linen - and well-appointed en suite shower room - spacious power shower, fluffy white towels. Lots of thoughtful touches - Arran Aromatics toiletries, fresh milk for tea and coffee, pretty... More

We stayed at The Annandale Arms Hotel for 2 nights & found the staff really helpful, the hotel was clean & comfortable. The food was excellent & nothing seemed a bother to the staff. The hotel is within walking distance for the shops in Moffat which was handy for us as my husband has problems walking. We would certainly recommend it... More

Moffat is a good place to tour the Borders by car or take part in more energetic pursuits like mountain biking being central to the 7 Stanes trail centres. The Annandale Arms is an old but clean and well presented hotel with very friendly staff. The room we had was spacious and generally well appointed but lacked any wardrobe space... More

Booked the hotel as a stop off on the way north and we enjoyed the stay. room had standard facilities, but was only 3 steps up from the main hall which is a change!! Helpful team at reception and generally very comfortable. Great location in the town centre and only about 1 mile from the motorway.

This is surely the best 'dog friendly' hotel in the UK. Large dog friendly rooms opening onto a patio area. Take your dog into the bar when you have dinner and into the foyer/lounge while you have breakfast. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable; food is excellent including breakfast.

A work stay at the Annandale Arms was a real pleasure - friendly, welcoming staff, clean bright room and good food (bar menu - they do have a restaurant). Honest, well cooked food with plenty of local/regional suppliers used. Ask for room 201 - farthest from reception but lovely airy room with view over the town roofs to the surrounding... More

Had a very enjoyable 2 night stay. Room was spacious as was the bathroom. Décor modern and looked to have been fairly recently refurbished. Public areas, corridors and staircases clean and well decorated. Food was excellent - breakfasts had plenty of choice, all served to your table. Ate at the hotel both evenings, again food was good. Staff were friendly... More

We stayed overnight on our way to Arbroath. We booked a dog friendly room as we had our pup with us. The room opened onto the car park and there was a fenced off area to exercise the dog but we did find a walk by the river. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and very quiet.... More

I only used the bar of this establishment as I was in search of an evening meal in the area of the Days Inn at Annandale Water. My satnav listed this so I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. The bar was quiet - I ate alone - but the staff were friendly and the food... More
