I only used the bar of this establishment as I was in search of an evening meal in the area of the Days Inn at Annandale Water. My satnav listed this so I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. The bar was quiet - I ate alone - but the staff were friendly and the food... More

Wonderful Hotel in the centre of Moffat which is a lovely market town. Pleasant greeting from the reception staff, who doubled up as waiters. The room was light and airy with a comfortable bed. Good service from all the staff. The food at dinner was well cooked, we had Melt in the mouth lamb shank and the rump of Lamb.... More

Nice hotel for a 1 night stay where we opted for a dinner bed and breakfast package. Menu was Scottish / traditional and breakfast was of a very high standard. Be aware there are no lifts as the building is listed but poterage was offered. Small bar also available in the hotel. Would use again as a stopover.

On the strength of favourable tripadvisor reviews we booked into the Annandale Arms Hotel with our dog. A great location as only a short detour from the M74 (traveling to the Highlands). At first glance the dog friendly rooms seemed somewhat infra dig as at the rear of the property in converted stables. Then we started to count the advantages:... More

Well can I say what a fantastic hotel from the first point of meeting the staff. We were running late due to traffic, so we rang the hotel we had booked a meal, the kitchen was closing at 8.30Pm, however they said know problem we will keep the kitchen staff aware. Food was the best lamb i have ever tasted,... More

Stayed here for one night on our way up to the highlands. Had my two dogs with me so was booked in a ground floor room. Ideal as the door opened straight into the small car park which had a nice fenced paddock for the dogs to stretch their legs round. Food was good, ate in the bar with the... More

We had an overnight stop while travelling north, and booked this based on reviews here. It's quite a typical Scottish hotel. Public areas aren't flashy, but clean and well maintained; our room was a good size, and spotlessly clean and comfortable; bed linen, towels and toiletrries all good quality. The car park is large, and breakfast was excellent. Staff were... More

We were a bit dubious when we saw the tartan carpet and the exterior of the dog friendly rooms which were referred to as "garden rooms" but might have been better referred to as "car park rooms". But actually we really warmed to the place - the bed was really comfortable, the bathroom well appointed, the free wifi good, the... More

Second stay here and even more enjoyable than the last. It's an unpretentious hotel but with a very welcoming and homely feel and clean and comfortable. The staff are excellent and friendly. We ate in the dining room both having the Italian Plait which was amazing and the best pastry I have eaten accompanied by an excellent Rioja. An additional... More

Just off the M74/M6 motorway the Annandale Arms Hotel has stoud proudly in the centre of Moffat for 250 years. With an excellent restaurant serving local fresh Scottish produce in a robust modern British style, combined this with an extensive wine list and you have a winning combination. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the bar has over fifty malt whiskiesand there is a large private carpark. This family run hotel is certainly worth a visit. ... more   less
