He finished what he was doing and instead of attending to us decided to make a phone call so we about turned and went to the railway bar at the Bull Inn and the contrast was remarkable a warm welcome pleasant staff and... Lovely wee lounge bar - only stopped for drinks in the afternoon during our stay in Moffat and went back in the evening after dinner. Gas fire - very cozy. Next time we will be back for Venison Pie - sounds amazing.

I have been to Moffat several times but never stayed in this hotel. I'm afraid I was disappointed, mainly because my room was directly above a noisy party. I had arrived feeling absolutely exhausted and went to bed very early. As well as the noise, I found the bed not very comfortable at all. My evening meal was good, so... More

My husband and I had the fish and I got a smaller portion which was ample for me. The prices were great and the staff really friendly. I noticed the Hotel is in the Guinness Book of Records for being the narrowest hotel.

When we arrived in Moffat we made a bee line for the Star, having stayed here nearly ten years ago so we were keen to see if things were still as good as we remembered. We were staying on the very handy campsite and we ate at The Star twice, once for lunch and the other occasion for an evening... More

Stayed here overnight and was excellent value for money. Room was very comfortable and breakfast in the morning was fantastic served by a friendly face. Was unable to have an evening meal in here as was so busy and couldn't get a seat so regrettably had to go elsewhere. Will definitely be booking here again. We loved our stay.

Although we didn't stay here I can highly recommend the food. Good menu, plenty of choice and lovely atmosphere, they allow dogs in which personally I like even though I don't have on. The food was very good, well cooked, nicely presented and very tasty.
