We were travelling from London to the highlands and stopped en route at Moffat. What a find Queensberry house was. We can't fault this place. We had a stylish room at the back of the house looking out on to the garden. It's so quiet and peaceful, and we slept like babies. Breakfast was a fantastic luxury porridge followed by... More

I stayed for one night on my way up to Edinburgh airport with work. Lovely place to stay and the owners were great - they got up especially early to cook my breakfast! The breakfast was also brilliant!

Lovely people who made us very welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble: they even offered us the loan of walking boots etc. Large choice of things for breakfast and all cooking first class.

After a long drive from Harwich on our way to Scotland, we decided to stay for the night in Moffat. We had a warm welcome from Paul who suggested a few good restaurants to visit and how to get there. As it is only a few minutes walk to the centre, we had a nice evening stroll to and from... More

A lovely B&B on a quiet road but just a few minutes walk into the centre of town. Paul and Denise were very friendly and welcoming and brought us tea and scones when we arrived, which was a lovely touch. Our room was well kitted out and comfortable with a good sized en-suit and a view of the garden. The... More

This is an excellent guest house, the owners Paul and Denise are hospitable, engaging with good knowledge of Moffat's history, restaurants, walks etc. The rooms are tastefully furnished, beds very comfortable, the shower invigorating, the sitting room pleasantly furnished and relaxing to sit and read. There are always a welcome pot of tea, coffee and cake, later a glass of... More

After a long journey from the south England ( and one night in a dreadful hotel!) it was an absolute joy to come to Paul and Denise's gorgeous gusset house. Perfect in every way. Paul's was such an amazing host - tea and cake on arrival, excellent local recommendations for restaurants and a truly lovely welcome. The room was fabulous... More

Queensberry House is extremely popular, so book well ahead. I didn't in July 2014 and, unfortunately, had to stay elsewhere. I had learned my lesson for my October trip south ~ another two excellent overnight stays with Paul and Denise (travelling in both directions). It is very reassuring, when travelling long distances, to know that the quality of your destination... More

Moffat is a convenient place for us to break our journeys, so we've often stayed there overnight, though we've also enjoyed some 2 or 3 night short breaks. Queensberry House is always our first choice, but it's popular and there's only three rooms so we don't always get in. This time we just stayed for the one night. There's a... More

My husband accompanied me on a trip to visit friends in Scotland and he for the first time experienced the fab hospitality and amenities of Paul and Denise and Queensberry House! He had heard about my wonderful stays there and he could see first hand exactly why my enthusing was so warranted! He is a hard man to please....especially when... More
