In June this year I stayed with a friend from Cape Town and two other friends, who are French, visiting from Paris. We were made extremely welcome to this Scottish farmhouse. In addition to very comfortable bedrooms we had the use of a large lounge and dining room, plus a study with free use of wifi. Breakfasts were delicious as... More

I stayed 2 nights at the Marks, Sheila and Chris are excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble, the log fire in the snug was absolutely fabulous. The stay at Marks was so different from any other B & B that I have stayed at, it may be a family home but our privacy was respected and if I get... More

Mark Farm is a lovely place for a break. The House is cosy with welcoming fires and even more welcoming hosts in Sheila and Chris. The food is excellent - make sure you have plenty of room, as the portions are immense! A stay at the farm is a complete get away from it all. The farm is about 4-5... More

We arrived after driving through atrocious weather to be welcomed with a blazing fire and freshly brewed tea and coffee. Bliss ! Very comfortable accommodation, a cosy sitting room and lovely breakfasts. We would definitely recommend the Marks.

What a treasure of a place! We booked very much at the last minute for a short break in the Kirkudbright area and were delighted with the place. Sheila was most welcoming and is a delightful host - she is also an excellent cook! Certainly it's off the beaten track and a good map is helpful, but that - to... More

We stayed at this quiet farmhouse near Kirkudbright for two nights. The room was a good size and both clean and tidy. On arrival we were immediately offered tea and biscuits, which was very welcome after a long drive. Although the bathroom and toilet were not en suite we had exclusive use of these facilities - the bath was enormous... More

Found this farmhouse on the internet and booked the room via phone directly with owner Sheila. The location is a few miles from Kirkcudbright and to find it we relied mostly on our Satnav. For most of the drive we drove in the middle of nowhere. Signs to it only start from circa a mile or two ahead. Nonetheless, we... More
