Staying here was a real pleasure. Hilary and Gordon gave us a warm welcome ( with G & T) ; bedroom was well equipped and bed comfortable; breakfast was brilliant; parking outside the door. We could not have expected more.

On our arrival we were greeted as if old friends returning - no formality but genuine warmth. Shown round the beautifully appointed rooms in the house and then taken to our room which was superb with views over the rooftops to the hills beyond. Beautiful rooms and kind, welcoming hosts. A lovely retreat in the peaceful little town of Kirkcudbright, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and restaurants, and around the corner from the Tollbooth Arts Centre and nearby craft shops. Gordon's breakfasts are jovial and memorable affairs !
