My wife and I have just enjoyed a lovely lunch in the most pleasant surroundings. No blaring background music, delicious meals beautifully presented and reasonably priced too. The beef served is locally sourced and as tender as you could wish for. There are lunch specials advertised from 3 November, starter and a main course for £10. Can't wait.

This was my third stay in this friendly, busy little hotel and it didn't disappoint. Our rooms (1 twin and 1 single) were comfortable with spacious bathrooms and all the facilities you could want. As ever the food was excellent at breakfast and dinner. If you intend to eat here, be warned that you should book or go early to... More

We visited the Selkirk Arms Hotel twice during our stay in Kirkcubright and we had decent meals both times. The staff were very friendly too and the service pretty snappy. Our second visit was not as good as our first however. We did speak to the staff on the evening and so I feel OK giving some feedback here. Bread.... More

We ate for the first time at the Selkirk Arms last night. We couldn't praise it highly enough. Despite being really busy - they managed to fit us in at short notice. Only a short wait & a welcome drink at the bar before our table was ready. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Service was quick & any... More

My Mum and Dad stayed here for 10 days. They had room 1 which was off the main hotel and ideal for them with a walk in shower and easy access without going through the main hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for them, always friendly and smiling. The room was very clean and always well maintained throughout their stay.... More

Spent four nights here with my wife and her parents. Chris and Douglas and the team couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. Especially patient with my elderly in-laws! Rooms very good if a bit quirky(bouncy floor in room 2! ). Food was excellent, but I hope they change the menu on a regular basis as it is a little... More

I have to say that dinner and breakfast are really good.... However i was put in room 9 with en suite extractor fan noise and staff talking/smoking in the outside corridor at 11.30pm... Room itself is comfortable though. Wifi iffy...but this will improve as town gets fibre. Location is excellent for this lovely town...

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback on your recent stay. Apologies for the fan noise and the staff chatter - in our defence it was the hottest day of the year topping 30 degrees and I think all windows were wide open and the cellar cooling fans were working overtime. Delighted you enjoyed the food... More

A family group of 12, we had lunch at the Selkirk Arms to celebrate a 60th Birthday in May this year. Everything was just perfect, from the initial response of the staff to a telephone booking, their courtesy in consulting us on alternative arrangements made necessary by the late booking of a funeral on the same day, our reception on...
