Just back from a wonderful weekend in Kirkcudbright. What a wonderful town, so friendly and helpful and what a great hotel. Ideally located in the centre of the town the hotel is like a tardis. Room clean, comfortable and warm. Food fantastic especially the Galloway Beef, service great special mention to Robbie, Andrea and Willie. Breakfast a wee bit slow... more

We will definitestay at the Selkirk Arms Hotel again. The service was fantastic, from booking through to checking out. We wanted two rooms close together, one with easy access and preferably no steps and we were accomodated in the annex which was very comfortable and cosy. The service in the bar area and restaurant was excellent with special mentions for... more

We wanted to stay in the part of Scotland and chose this hotels because of the reviws which we had read. Our main comments are that due to it being full we hadt upgrade, which was fine, but we were not very impressed with the upgrade. To us it was in the attic. Both rooms were small, ie one was... more

We've been around a bit and can honestly say we've never encountered staff better those here. Friendly, helpful and cheerful, right from the enquiry stage. Great team spirit. The hotel is right up to scratch for its food, decor and comfort and we had a great, relaxing weekend. Already recommending to friends. more

We had a most enjoyable two-night break at the Selkirk Arms. Don't be put off by the "Best Western" label. This is not your typical chain establishment, but is run as a "family business" with the friendliest, most accommodating service we have encountered in a long time. All the staff seem to be happy - and it shows! A comfortable,... more

We stayed here one night only (Saturday), whilst visiting the Creetown Country Festival a few miles away. Although the bar/restaurant was nearly full with locals, when we arrived, the manager swiftly arranged a table and light meal for us before we went out. Very tasty and good use of local produce. Our room, at the front of hotel was newly decorated... more

We decided to stay a night here on our way to Northern Scotland and were very pleased we did. I asked for a quiet room and got one on the top floor looking out onto the street. It had everything we needed including free internet. The service, dinner and breakfast were beyond our expectations. So was the town - it... more

A real find, only regret is that we could not stay longer. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was outstanding as was the service, both at reception and in the pub. Breakfast was a treat as well, again with outstanding service. more

We Stayed here over the heineken cup wknd 22 to 25 may 09. The food was way above the standard you would expect to find in a small town hotel like this. The room we were in was recently redecorated and had one of the most comfortable beds i have ever slept in and the decor was modern and tasteful.... more
