A real find, only regret is that we could not stay longer. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was outstanding as was the service, both at reception and in the pub. Breakfast was a treat as well, again with outstanding service. more

We Stayed here over the heineken cup wknd 22 to 25 may 09. The food was way above the standard you would expect to find in a small town hotel like this. The room we were in was recently redecorated and had one of the most comfortable beds i have ever slept in and the decor was modern and tasteful.... more

Robert Burns stayed here. If this isn't enough to get you here (as it wouldn't be for me), then the friendly staff and great location might be. It's a beautiful city to explore, and when you're done, it's great to come home to a comfortable room with an attentive staff and great food. I stayed there two nights during my... more

We stayed in a local guest house but had meals in the Selkirk Bistro on two nights over the May Spring bank holiday weekend (2009). Very good selection of meals, local produce, reasonable prices and excellent service. The food was a delight. We ate there many years ago and things have really picked up - well done all the staff... more

We meandered into Kircudbright almost by accident at 3pm and were welcomed warmly and were offered the last available room. The room was clean spacious and well-appointed if a little old-fashioned. Breakfast and dinner were served with smiles and attention and the food was delicious, including very fresh fish beautifully but not pretentiously prepared. The manager/owner was attentive and helpful.... more

This was a return visit for us; our first experience of the Selkirk Arms was when we had lunch there on Easter Sunday last year. We were attracted by the overall ambiance of the place, the very friendly staff for whom nothing seemed to be too much trouble and, of course, the excellent chef. We were determined to stay at... more

Stayed here over the Rugby 6 Nations Weekend (20th - 23rd March) and were absolutely charmed by this Hotel and Kirkcudbright itself. The staff, without exception, were approachable, friendly, highly motivated and professional. Our meals were well presented with locally produced ingredients and the Full Scottish Breakfast, possibly the best we have experienced. The new owners have obviously invested significantly... more

A lovely hotel, close to the centre of town. Nice comfy bedroom, elegant and relaxing public rooms, and some of the most friendly and helpful staff I've ever encountered. (They arranged for me to have diner later than the advertised 21.00 restaurant closing time, as they knew I was at a business event until 21.30). Food was nice and prices... more

This is a wonderful, friendly hotel in the very heart of picturesque Kirkcudbright. The facilities are first rate, the staff and management very friendly and helpful, and the local ale served is delicious! You won't find a better hotel in Kirkcudbright, and I can't wait to come back! more
