We married here 10 years ago so decided to go back to celebrate our anniversary. It was much as remembered on arrival, they upgraded us to the bridal suite which was lovely of them. When we married we were in the newer part of the hotel this stay the suite was in the original hotel, it was quite nice, spacious... More

Trying to find somewhere to have a meal is limiting in Gretna. This Hotel looks very welcoming, attractive and interesting. Also the reviews on here were good so we decided to visit for dinner. The inside was not as attractive as the exterior. The restaurant looked nice so we deided to dine in there after checking the menus. It was... More

Arrived for work for two nights, had such a huge room with a 42' HD tv, the beds were so comfy, the food in the bar was amazing opted one night for a home made curry, a very good stay with lovely surrounding grounds

This is a lovely traditional building and would certainly tick all the boxes for a wedding venue- the grounds and gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The interior is comfortable and spacious- we were more than happy with our room although the shower was a tad anaemic. However the biggest disappointment was the food in the restaurant - big helpings... More

35 of us stayed in this hotel as our friends were getting married in the beautiful Anvil Hall and the reception was held here at the hotel. The hotel is kept very much in the original character of the 1700s. Old oak furniture etc The exterior is stunning with a huge gravel driveway and black and white Georgian front. The... More

I had high hopes for this little historic hotel but it was such a disappointment. It wasn't comfortable, definitely needs updating, and the bathroom.... yuck. It was grimy & the shower was a frigid trickle. I don't normally leave negative reviews --honestly my standards are pretty average & I make allowances for old, historic hotels... but the stay here was... More

A pleasant reception and another welcoming room with views over the front grounds toward Gretna Town! The hotel was not too full and we dined at the bar in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed the meals and the service! There was a little disappointment with the drizzly weather but the hotel had no control over this unfortunately!
