My wife and I booked one night at the Gretna Hall hotel as we got a excellent deal that included breakfast and dinner plus room for £45. You cannot complain about the price. When we finally found the hotel (because as I was informed by the receptionist when I called "The sat navs never find us") we were directed to... more

We hoped to see lots of brides and weddings, there were plenty. We expected excellent grounds for photos etc. they were superb. We hoped for cheerfull and willing staff, they were hard working, over worked, but eager to say why you couldn't have that slight change you'd like, a particular drink, a different seat at dinner, tea and toast later,... more

We had our wedding at the blacksmith cottage at the end of April. Using the wedding package available here. After reading some of the previous comments, I felt that some of them were very unfair. Yes, the bar area could do with a bit of a face lift. But the food & the staff made both our stay & wedding... more

We recently got married in the Blacksmiths Cottage within the grounds of Gretna Hall Hotel. Ourselves and our 8 guests stayed at the hotel during our visit and were made to feel very comfortable by the friendly and helpful staff. In particular, Diane Boyd and Laura Copland the wedding co ordinator were fab in helping us sort things out leading... more

My wife and I booked this hotel through Easy Breaks. I read some of the reviews before I booked but I thought I would give it a try as it seemed to be good value. But you know the old saying," you only get what you pay for ".In this case it was true but worse. We arrived mid week and... more

Having planned to have a romantic small wedding at Gretna Green. We booked into the Gretna Hall Hotel. What a mistake. The carpet is threadbare the chairs are falling apart, the bar was empty of all draught beer and cider, and as for the food it wasn't even fit for a dog. For starter I had Pate. This consisted of... more

Hi We stayed here one night, on a positive note the room was actually very nice, a decent size, and it suited us for what we wanted, and we had a good breakfast. Bad points, communal areas, carpets etc are threadbare in places and quite dated, but it is a shame because the room was pretty decent. There is motorway... more

I was amazed to find that the Gretna Hall is part of the Swallow chain, it had the look and feel of a run down family hotel that the family didn't want to run any longer but couldn't afford to close down and who resented having to accept paying guests. On arrival I had to pay for the room again... more
