Having travelled through heavy traffic for 3 hours it was a huge relief when we finally arrived at the 'Cally Palace Hotel'. The entrance with the reception was beautiful - at the top of the stairs were 2 hugh pillars which filled the room with an oldish feeling !! The receptionist were very helpful and smiled constantly which is exactly... more

Spent one night in late September in order to break our journey to the ferry at Stranraer. Grounds and architecture were impressive, however the decor was tired, rather like the other guests. We were the youngest there by a long stretch (my husband is in his mid-forties!). Staff were helpful and courteous but lacked considerable professionalism. Our room was spacious... more

From the moment of entering the picturesque grounds to the moment of departure one can only marvel at the overall experience. The efficiency at reception was supported by the manager who carried some of our bags to the room. The room was spacious, luxurious and clean. The view from the room overlooking the first tee of the golf course was... more

I spent a wonderful weekend at this hotel and although the weather was cold the staff certainly weren't. The standard of service was superb and nothing was too much trouble. The addition of the gym is great news and we enjoyed making full use of the facilities. Unlike other reviewers I found the bedrooms up to a four star standard... more

Having just stayed at the Cally Palace for two days we were most disappointed that this Hotel does NOT rate its four star status, the hotel is very dated and old, the furnishings are well past their sell by date and the rooms are very shabby ,friends of ours also stayed at the same time as us and their curtains... more

My Mother and I stopped on the way to another McMillan Hotel in Portpatrick. We should have stayed here as the Fernhill was so very disappointing!. I had wanted to stay here for years, as I thought it would be a really class hotel. I was quite disappointed but not to the extent that i wouldn't stay again. The room... more

stayed here in April (our fourth visit) so we obviously love it. The setting is so picturesque and the building impressive. On our first visit we were expecting it to be slightly shabby but not at all- very well maintained public areas and the bedrooms are a delight. The staff pay attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble... more

Stayed at the Cally Palace for one night in December as part of a wedding party. Hotel is set in beautiful grounds which are really impressive, and lovely to look at, even in wintertime. The hotel building itself is like a grand old mansion house, and all the main public rooms are very ornate and have kept a lot of... more

My husband and I stayed here last year with my sister in law for 2 nights. The hotel is set in magnificent grounds but seems to focus mainly on the many golfers who come to stay here. The room was large but musty and the wardrobe smelt old and damp and the beds were uncomfortable. The pool was large but... more

A fantastic luxury hotel at very affordable prices. Cally Palace Hotel is a family owned mansion set in the most amazing grounds. The hotel oozed splendour from the entrance hall to the en-suite! The 'premier' bedrooms were to die for! The room was so big I got lost on my way back to bed after visiting the bathroom! The dining... more
