The Hotel is different from most other Hotels in that it appeals to a particular clientele. If you are comfortable with old fashioned standards this is the hotel for you. Food and service are excellent Gents in collar and tie after 6.30 and ladies in smart attire, pianist in the dining room proper table service even for breakfast. Loyal staff... More

Everything about this hotel is wonderful! The staff were incredible and could not do enought to help us at all times! The rooms were beautiful, the food excellent, the golf course superb, the pool, jacuzzi and sauna lovely, the snooker table tip top, the tennis court great and the surrounding area stunningly beautiful We recently stayed for 3 nights as... We stayed here on Monday. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the start and sorted out a cot for our baby. £70 dbb - and we got a suite! We had the pool to ourselves for an hour and used the fluffy robes that we're in the room ( also got some sherry in the room when we... More

The spacious, well maintained room and the excellent spa were good places to relax after playing the golf course which was not short of challenges. The atmosphere in the dining room and the quality of food and service were all very good. Felt welcome and well cared for from the moment we entered. More

We had a great time! Unlimited golf on an interesting course! We will definately go back for revenge! Hotel room was excellent! Food amazing and friendly staff. Pool, sauna and jacuzzi helped relieve the aches and pains of playing 36 holes in one day! It's not cheap but I would say worth the money. More

We spent a three day break in late March, at a very reasonable £75 pppn for DB&B. The breakfasts are superb, as are the dinners (4 course plus coffee & petit fours). The wine selection is reasonable, with good quality wines from around £20. Bar prices are typical of many hotels and have become a bit steep compared to pub... More

This hotel is set in beautiful grounds with a lake and golf course surrounding the hotel and Galloway forest walks from the hotel. The staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is very traditional and the original features have been beautifully maintained. Rooms large with everything you need and swimming pool and jacuzzi were super. Meals were... More

My wife and I have just returned from a two night stay. We booked a de luxe room which was very large with great views and spotlessly clean. The only down side was the ratther old fashioned TV which we found difficult to operate. The large swimming pool and leisure facilites are excellent with the pool kept at a very... More

We spent two nights there last weekend as part of a group which occupied the whole hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The public rooms are huge, with gloriously decorated ceilings, traditional furnishings totally in keeping, and big family portraits hanging on the walls, so you get the sense of staying in the grand family home it once was. Our room... More

Just come back from a two night stay at the Cally Palace, Gatehouse of Fleet. The location of the hotel is stunning and great for touring Dumfries and Galloway. This is our fourth visit to the hotel. It is very traditional with excellent service and huge rooms and bathrooms. We always go in February as the snowdrops in the wood... More
