A group of twenty curlers from all over Scotland, with wives, stayed for a reunion weekend, our rooms were all in the new wing and were very well appointed, our room had a balcony overlooking the extensive grounds (a small carafe of sherry plus the usual tea and coffee a nice touch). Our tables in the dining room were curtained... more

This was not for us. We were due to stay 2 nights but in the end only stayed one. The staff were friendly and our children were made welcome ( 11 and 10). The family room was large and the 2 bathrooms in the room were sparkilng clean however the room itself needed updating. The childrens bunk beds were the... more

I stayed in the hotel for a few nights a couple of weeks ago with my family, it had been recommeded by friends, who had been impressed with the service and standard of the hotel, we also enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others, and look forward to a visit again next year! more

We chose the Cally for a relaxing weekend away after our usual hotel in Dumfries and Galloway was fully booked. The hotel looks lovely from the outside and the reception and public areas were very welcoming, however our 'Deluxe' bedroom left a bit to be desired. We had 2 single beds joined together to make one bed, a bathroom with... more

Spent 2 nights here in August on a golf break with friends. There were 14 of us in our party. Grounds and golf course were quite impressive although the greens had just been tinned and were a bit bumpy. For a 4 star hotel the whole experience was very disappointing. How they managed to win a medal for “Hospitality Excellence... more

We stayed a Sunday evening in sunny July. Our arrival was greeted with a friendly receptionist. We had a very large room overlooking the gardens which was very clean. Dinner was not intrusive, we had the piano playing in the background and the evening was finished in the lounge. Overall staff were professional every time we past them, greeting us... more

This is a Hotel that obviously understands the meaning and value of hospitality in it's truest sense. On our arrival in the oppulent reception area we recieved the warmest of welcomes before bieng shown to our room which was beautifully appointed and full of natural day light due to the massive bay windows, Lovley bathroom also! A short stroll around... more

Having travelled through heavy traffic for 3 hours it was a huge relief when we finally arrived at the 'Cally Palace Hotel'. The entrance with the reception was beautiful - at the top of the stairs were 2 hugh pillars which filled the room with an oldish feeling !! The receptionist were very helpful and smiled constantly which is exactly... more

Spent one night in late September in order to break our journey to the ferry at Stranraer. Grounds and architecture were impressive, however the decor was tired, rather like the other guests. We were the youngest there by a long stretch (my husband is in his mid-forties!). Staff were helpful and courteous but lacked considerable professionalism. Our room was spacious... more

From the moment of entering the picturesque grounds to the moment of departure one can only marvel at the overall experience. The efficiency at reception was supported by the manager who carried some of our bags to the room. The room was spacious, luxurious and clean. The view from the room overlooking the first tee of the golf course was... more
