Marthrown of Mabie is great for taking groups of young people away, they have the freedom to explore in a safe natural environment. After taking a group there I decided it was were I wanted to get married. We booked the whole site for a weekend so we could spend time with our friends and family's. We had about 100... More

So staying in a yurt wasn't as bad as I expected, at all... my only issue was that both beds are in a terrible condition - both should be replaced ASAP. My only other concern with Marthrown of Mabie was the lack of 'facilities' the showers and toilets provided are in terrible need of replacement!! Perhaps a few more signs... More

I've just returned from a weekend at Marthrown of Mabie, where 15 friends and I stayed to celebrate my 30th birthday. We hired out the roundhouse, along with the yurt and campsite so that we could have a sound system and dance to our hearts' content without having to worry about disturbing any fellow campers. Despite some of my friends'... More

I stayed here with 17 other friends for a hen weekend. My first impressions were that it had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with bags of rustic charm. We stayed in the 3 main bunk houses and had full use of a separate house with a kitchen, dining room and wonderful wood burning stove. I have to say rustic is... More

A nice big shout to Pam and Mark for the discounted rooms during our recent stay at their Hostel, the log fired hot tub and sauna along with the location at the top of that forest mountain made this a unique and exciting stay. Thanks again you guys for your dedication to running a place that is very different from... More

We recently stayed at this wonderful hostel and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there from the beginning until the end. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous and the lodgings are well presented and affordable. If you love the great outdoors and the feeling of being in the nature, you will love this resort. The hotel owner (Pam)... More

We stayed here for a mountain biking weekend. The location is great, being in the middle of the forest on the side of the hill. I know some people have camped here and used the round house and thought it was fine. We stayed in the bunk barn and it was poor. I've stayed in many bunk barns and am... More

Cleanliness - The rooms are damp and the only good point are that the lights don't work so you can't see the mold in the room. Location - Not clearly sign posted and not suited for road cyclists after a 3km gravel hill. Service - Pam was pleasant enough. Value - Most expensive and worst hostel I stayed in. Very... More

I'm so sad my hen weekend is over at Marthrown, it was amazing from start to finish and everyone had an absolute ball. We took over most of the site with the exception of one bunkhouse, 28 of us stayed over in total. We had a full moon themed party in the round house on the Friday night then sat... More

I really cannot fault the place. I was camping and the natural woodland makes you feel like you are properly wild camping, but with the convenience of a laundry room, cooking area and fire warmed hit-tub! The location is amazing for mountain biking around the western 7 Stanes is all easily accessible from Marthrown. I will be going again. Next... More
