When booking Ferintosh, I had some concerns because of the location across from the train station and the fact that parking was not provided. This turned out to be a non issues. Even though our room faced the station, we had a wonderful night's sleep. If there was train noise, we didn't hear it. Parking was around the corner on... more

This B&B was great. The room was beautiful. They gave you free Single Malt Whiskey and cookies in your room everyday. Also free Breakfast. This Breakfast was huge too you could eat eggs, haggis, porridge, sausage, and much more. Also they were a great help with telling us about the sights and how to get there. They were very reasonable as well.... more

Emma and Robertson have the art of hospitality down. They were warm and helpful - but not intrusive at all. I felt safe (which is important as we are a lesbian couple) and welcome. The food was amazing and they were gracious about any request that we had (even heating up leftovers for us at 9 PM for a late... more

Excellent standard and brilliant service for a guest house in Dumfries. We stayed here during our Land's End JOG cycle ride, and the welcome was warm and friendly, especially the complimentary whisky. Easy to find, with secure bike storage, the food was fantastic, and our hosts also made us feel very welcome. They also recommeded a great pub to eat... more

Directly opposite Dumfries Station and a few hundred meters from the town centre this great Guest House couldn't be more conveniently situated. Welcomed in by Hosts Robertson and Emma we found the rooms to be spotless and the decanter of Single Malt in the room was a lovely touch. The breakfast is more than hearty and served by a Kilted... more

A truely magical Burn's Night weekend. Wonderful hosts who couldn't do enough for us. In particular the fact that normally, being both vegetarians, we tend to get the donkey's tail (not literally, but it has come close a few times!) when it comes to service - more often than not we are palmed off with pasta as an after thought.... more

Friendly, informative hosts. Gave us great advice on what to see and do. Clean, nice, quiet rooms. Great breakfast. Taste of local whiskey in all the rooms was quite a special treat. Walking distance to restaurants, stores, etc. This is the place to stay if you're in the area. more

A truly great B&B. The owners, Emma and Robertson, are friendly and attentive, always ensuring that our stay was pleasant. Their knowledge of the area meant we had no troubles finding fun pubs, good food and excellent sightseeing. Made to order breakfast was outstanding - haggis in the morning is a new favourite. Rooms are tidy and well appointed. The... more

Generosity is the word to sum up Ferintosh. This beautiful house is spotlessly clean from top to bottom. The luxuriously adorned bedrooms are well stocked with various beverages and biscuits not to mention the large complimentary dram, replenished daily, and you can actually move around in the power shower! Lovely dining room matched by the stunning full Scottish breakfast or... more

We picked Dumfries as a destination for a weekend break because neither of us had been there before. We picked Ferintosh to stay at because we wanted somewhere in the centre of town that offered a cooked breakfast. if you check out the pictures on the www.ferintosh.net website you will see why we choose this place! The staff were really... more
