A great B&B. Walking distance to town centre. Friendly attentive hosts. Great breakfast with local produce and an excellent different complimentary 'wee dram' in the room every evening. Comfortable, clean and stylishly traditional en-suite room. Highly recommended! Will go again! more

Interesting town and surrounds, however cannot agree with some of the previous reviews. The B&B was comfortable and clean, and we appreciated the complimentary Malt whiskey. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, however as value for money, we considered this not comparable to others for the same cost. If this is rated as one of the best in Dumfries, then... more

We have travelled all around the u.k. staying at b and b on the whole. We have never stayed in a place such as Ferintosh. It is simply the best in the country. From our magnificent welcome from Robertson our kilted proprieter to the well appointed rooms with wifi access to the wee dram in our room to the fantastic... more

Ferintosh is comfortable, pretty, and welcoming. The breakfast is elegant and includes some real treats: bacon that was the best we had during our three weeks in the U.K.; tasty tattie scones that we didn't run across on other B-and-B menus; delicious porridge (oatmeal). Although there is wi-fi available, be apprised that the signal isn't strong enough for iPhones (it's... more

B&Bs don't get better than this! One is made to feel at home by the friendly hosts Emma and Robertson. A wonderful cooked breakfast including the option of haggis keeps you going, and the single malt of the day in each room is a lovely touch. This is a place to return to. more

Of all the bed and breakfasts, this has to be one of the best there is in this area. The rooms are well equipped, quiet and very comfortable. They all come with complimentary tea and coffee, as well as a single malt of the day. -what more can you wish for? They are within easy five minutes walking distance to... more

We stayed one night at Ferintosh and were treated great by Robertson and Emma. They were both very friendly, chatted with us about Scotland, and gave good recommendations for food and directions. The guest house itself is located off of a side street in Dumfries and is a short walk to the town center, river, and restaurants. While there is... more

Centrally located, not only near public transport but Dumfries/Galloway is underrated for tourism. The proprietors go the last mile in helping visitors. Their in-room guide has a truly useful review of local places to eat, commenting on quality of food, quality of service, prices. There is no stinting on the breakfast. Aside from being across the street from the railroad... more
