We visited the bar at the hotel on a Sunday evening around 8.30pm the bar was quiet and the atmosphere was a little awkward. There were three of us and we ordered our drinks, on paying we asked if they were still doing food and the barmaid told us they stop food on a Sunday at 7.30pm. This left us... More

My friend and I organised a function at the Moreig and the support in the planning was just as described on the website. We wanted something informal and it was so refreshing to be supported to plan exactly what we wanted without any fuss or pressure. On the night, the food and service were excellent and the team, professional and... More

After struggling to find somewhere that served food all day on a Saturday in Dumfries, a friend recommended the Moreig hotel. We were greeted by friendly staff who were more than happy to help and accommodate for the 2 children in our party. We were provided with 3 different menus-2 different set menus and the normal menu. The choice was... More

Been here a few times, mostly lunchtime. Have alway been happy with the fare. It's not fancy but good, down to earth pub food. Staff have always been very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Good value.

We stayed here in June as an overnighter to break our journey for myself, wife and grandson. We often do this but usually stay in the, out of town, Travel Inn or Travelodge. We usually do a bit of shopping through the day, back to the hotel, and back into town for a meal at night. Car park - spacious... More

After being let down by another hotel in the town we managed to secure a room in this hotel very last minute. We were greater by a member of staff who was expecting us and was shown to a very nice room in an annexe at the rear of the hotel. The room was very well presented and very clean,... More
