We've stayed at this hotel several times. It is located in the beautiful grounds of the Crichton Estate, and only a short drive into Dumfries itself (or a 20 min walk). The rooms are spacious, clean, modern and very comfortable. The reception staff informative and friendly. Ample car parking and relaxing public rooms. But I recommend you don't step any... more

An ultra-modern hotel sheltering behind a somewhat authoritarian Victorian facade and located within extensive grounds. Although the area (The Crighton) is styled as a business park don't be misled; it's a quiet wooded backwater of Dumfries but only a mile or so from the centre of town. Well appointed and comfortable bedrooms. Fully disabled accessible throughout the hotel. Great little... more

Although we booked this break just the night before we went we really couldn't have chosen a better hotel. We were there over the Easter weekend and were inpressed both with the service and the cleanliness. First impressions are very important and this hotel passed the test with flying colours. The check in staff were helpful and courteous, the room... more

A very smart and welcoming hotel when we first entered reception in the old part of the building. The room, which was situated in a new block adjesent to the main building, was very comfortable, had a telly with freeview, a nice smart bathroom with toilet and shower, and a hugh soft bed. The breakfast was good, but not great.... more

Stayed at the Aston as our son was getting married at the Chrichton church and the reception was at the Easterbrook Hall, so having everything altogether on one site was brilliant. The grounds around the hotel are fantastic and a walk is a definite. The hotel is quite an unusual mix of old and new, but the rooms are spotless, very... more

Very comfortable modern hotel rooms with restaurant and bar in the old original building. Lovely walk-in showers rather than the customary shower head over the bath. Enjoyed dinner and breakfast here - nicer than typical hotel fare. Though out of the town centre, the location in Crichton Campus is beautiful - lovely floodlit buildings in a parkland setting. If you... more

We have just returned from this hotel after a weekend break with family. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much bother. The bedrooms were large and clean and the food was very good. I would certainly recommend this hotel and we will be returning in the future. more

This was the first time we had stayed here and it certainly will not be the last. The room was large, warm, spotless and shower excellent. The staff were excellent and so helpful. The food was superb and could not fault it. Our room was overlooking the garden and even although it was January it was still lovely to look... more

We stayed here a few months earlier and thought that the restaurant had improved since then - we had dinner there a couple of times this visit and it wasn't bad at all. Breakfast was good, very nice rooms and plenty of parking. Lovely views and pleasant walks in the grounds. Service is good in the restaurant but otherwise the... more
