We stayed here over the weekend (19-21st June 2015) while taking part in the tough mudder event nearby. Margaret and Gordon were excellent hosts- warm and welcoming from the start. When we arrived we were shown to our rooms where there was a glass of sherry and plate of short bread waiting for us- a really nice touch. Rooms were... More

I am a mature student currently studying vet nursing at Barony Campus near Dumfries. A few months prior to starting my course, I began contacting local B and B's searching for an establishment who would be able to provide me with a room. Unfortunately, it was not as easy as I first thought, with many owners seeing the word 'student'... More

My friend and I stayed here whilst racing the SDA at Ae Forest, and it was perfect! The rooms had everything we needed, and had a great sleep. Margaret and Gordon were excellent hosts, making us feel very welcome, also made us a feast of a breakfast in the morning. I couldn't imagine anyone giving this B&B a bad review.

I've stayed here many times whilst on business and cannot believe the last three reviews.Gordon and Margaret are very nice people indeed and it's quite plain and obvious to anyone who has stayed their that the previous negative views are vindictive and not true.On a brighter note, congratulations Gordon and Margaret on winning four in a bed, well deserved for your beautiful... Nice part of the world but I would never recommend this place. Dusty, dull with miserable owners. We were not made to feel welcome. They made us feel as though they were doing US a favour in letting us stay there. Also the windows were filthy. We could not eat the breakfast knowing the place was unclean.

Well I go against the grain with previous reviews, our first trip to this area which we was looking forward to was let down by the anti English owners of this bb we couldn't stay here again for this main reason along with the boring design of the room we was in and the hairs in our breakfasy. The countryside was... More

Just spent 2 wonderful nights at this superb B&B.This comment of "No no no" is what my husband said when I asked if we could stay for a month, not because of the cost which I might add is very reasonable but because of all the weight we would both gain.. Gordon's talents in the kitchen are second to none... More

A fabulous b&b , in beautiful countryside . So peaceful & quiet . Amazing garden to enjoy . The room was massive and spotlessly clean . Lots of extra touches . Breakfast at any time you wanted . Another example of going the extra mile . Couldn't fault it even if I wanted to ! Delightful couple . I hope... More

We have stayed here a number of times over the past 15 years and have always felt welcomed. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped with lots of extras and the breakfast is great. The house is outside Dumfries, off the road and with country views. We will return.
