This hotel is situated roughly about 1.5-2miles outside Dumfries town but it's far enough away to get some peace but also close enough to visit the town which is very recommended. There are no restaurant facilities at this hotel but there is a nearby pub selling food all day which is only a walk across the road. There is a... More

This Travelodge is a bit tired looks like its one of the older lodges, but having said that the lodge was clean and we slept well, the lady on reception was very Friendly and helpful, the Little chief on site looked like it had closed down when we arrived ,but was open for breakfast the morning after, the night we stayed at the... Staff were all very polite and helpful here, but the rooms were not very comfortable. The bathroom reminded me of the 1960s 'Psycho' film because of the very dated decor and dodgy looking shower curtain..... I was expecting to see Norman Bates every time i pulled the shower curtain open! Little chef next door was a little basic, we took... More

This Travelodge is advertised as having a Little Chef attached. It stopped taking orders for meals at 15.00 hrs and the "Early Bird" breakfast was not available until 08.00 hrs. This should be included in the advertising. The gutters are all full of growth so that when it rained (and it rained!!!) they overflowed - it was like trying to... More

On the spur of the moment we booked a room for £15.00 and then read the reviews on trip advisor, which caused us some concern. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and found our room to be spacious and clean and on a parr with any other budget hotel that we have stayed in. We... More

This hotel was awful. Run down, drab, depressing, damp, uncomfortable & unprofessional! Really wish I'd read trip adviser before booking :-( I will be writing a letter of complaint as I think they should be aware what is thought of the hotel. I am not someone who complains for the sake of it, I also review and write letters when... More

The green roof remains and the ambience around the Little Chef is depressing to say the least......just needs a total refit and it would be fine so who is conning the consumers....whoever actually owns it and they should be ashamed as the first such facility in South West Scotland.....no wonder folks bypass Dumfries

We stayed in this travelodge after travelling over night from West Sussex for a family funeral. We arrived at the hotel ( if thats what you can call it) very tired after the funeral, we were all dressed in black and it was totally obivious where we had been. After being told we could book in after 2pm on the... More
