3rd time we have stayed here this year and once again an enjoyable stay, our room was in the annex , clean and spacious , staff very friendly , helpful ,courteous couldn't do enough to make this stay enjoyable. Yes the building may be tired in places however, as with most hotels these days they are running on a tight... More

I got married here in June. The staff couldn't of been more helpful. From Eleanor and the rest of the team in the restaurant serving us breakfast with a smile to Trudi, Sean and Kathryn on the bar in the evening. Our meal was fantastic we had beef, chicken and salmon all cooked perfectly. I certainly can't thank the chefs... More

Recently stayed here for a wedding, Let's just say as long as the bride enjoyed herself I am happy, however as a guest at the Hetland we arrived to no hot water , a huge room where old meets new but In a mixed mash. The shower door was only half cleaned.....dust was everywhere to the point of sneezing., a... More

Had a wedding here and I must say very disappointed. The wedding meal was shocking roast beef was cut like a steak and very tough Yorkshire pudding were rock solid and sticky toffee pudding was burnt to a crisp a lot of the wedding guests left there meals. Service was appauling.never asked how much cake was to be cut up... More

Enticed by the photograph! Lovely setting & warm welcome. The entrance & old hall is charming, but we were in the annexe - damp, dusty & cobwebby throughout our stay. A sign on the front door says pet friendly, but it smelt as if an animal had curled up & died under the pile of old furniture at the foot... More

helpful staff found a ground floor room as I couldn't manage the stairs. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice (but haggis & black pudding looked like cheap bought frozen beefburgers) & quick efficient service. In need of decoration & maintenance. No clock anywhere. Shower room in disabled ground floor room was a wet room and the floor didn't slope towards... More

Booked first, then checked the reviews and thought, oh dear. However, a completely different experience to some. Booked into room 24 which was very spacious, king size comfortable bed and pillows and large bathroom with new bath, shower and basin. The décor wasn't the most inspiring but perfectly acceptable. Staff at check in, check out, dinner and breakfast could not... More

We booked this hotel on a offer, sad to say we think that is why they had a full hotel, it did look to us that othere's all had taken up on the deal. We went for a superior room and we would definately not have said this was superior, we have stayed, around the world at hotels costing less... More
