13 of us have just stopped there for a golf holiday, after reading the reviews we were a little worried to say the least, but upon arrival the Queensbury is not that bad, yes could do with bit of paint here and there but the rooms were clean (bedding changed every day) fresh towels every day and good value food... Having lived in Dumfries for many years I choose to stay here for the closeness to the Granary and Chancers. Stay was ok you get what you pay but sadly I have paid twice!! They have taken the cost of the room two months in a row. A refund you say? Well.....no. 3 times I've have called apparently the manager... More

Just stayed for a night, nice staff, clean room (great shower), all looked clean and new. I only had the breakfast which you order from the staff if you want cooked food (inc. in room price), boom bang yum ready for another day of traveling. If I'm ever back in Dumfries I'd defiantly stay there again.

After being shown to our room we refused to stay the night and got a refund. The room was shabby, dirty, smelled like damp and the bed and bathroom were covered in hairs. When we complained about the state of the room the staff did not offer to clean it and seemed unphased by the complaint and the manager was... More

Let's face it, having been derelict for a considerable time, this is an ideal stop - location wise - for a pint, when in Town. Taken over by the Smith and Jones chain, it is now (as far as I'm aware) in administration. A recent auction failed to reach the reserve price. This limbo situation is reflected in the menu,... More

Booked in last minute, and never did my normal research - shame on me. Yes it's in need of a refurb, even a coat of paint n some filler But it's £45 with breakfast and it's very central. Staff were nice, beer was cheap and although we didn't eat the food looked ok. It's handy enough and I would stay... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights little bit pricey for what we got. Far too many stairs up to the room. Needed light bulb also dripping tap was annoying. But the one saving grace was the breakfast ....

We were attending a function in Dumfries and decided to stay at the Queensberry due to the location however this turned out to be a very bad idea. We checked in and was led up to our room. Upon walking into the room the smell of damp hit us.. There was a very big crack up the wall where water... More

Booked this for 2 nights and we would have rather have slept in the car. Would have been quieter! To say its noisy is an understatement... The very sullen staff are unhelpful. Barely a grunt from our Easter European friend on the bar and for breakfasts. We arrived 2 minutes too early for breakfast and you would have thought we... More

A bed for the night of a family wedding in Dumfries was the reason for booking here. It has a good town centre location and the staff are all friendly but later on you realise that this is basically a very lively pub for the younger set, which happens to have bedrooms upstairs. If you are used to modern Premier... More
