I booked a twin room for my friend and I to stay after a wedding. At £60 a night it was the cheapest available to book. It is quite shabby, dated wallpaper on the walls, stained carpets and moving beds! There was a TV in the room but we never switched it on, wee kettle with tea/coffee was a nice... More

This is no way a hotel,it's a crappy pub with some rooms above it. If it was £15 a night you might just get it but £45, Breakfast was included in the price mind.it started at 09:30,when I said that that was too late for me the bar lady was delighted!! She gets a longer sleep! The place is dirty,tired... More

Stayed here last night with my friend. One of our friends wedding was in the area so picked here to be able to have a drink. We had room 6 which is a twin room. I know the hotel is rather run down and a bit dated but it was clean and tidy it was also £30 each so same... More

I arrived on business, I went to my room after checking in and emptied my bag to put my clothes etc into drawers. When I opened top drawer it was full of dirt and midget gems!!! I have the photos, intrigued I checked the other drawers and they fell apart as I tried to open them. I then turned the... More

I booked this Hotel as a resting place after a long day at the Ryder Cup. The staff were nice people, but I'm afraid the accommodation and the Hotel in general are sadly awful. I paid £120 of my hard earned money to stay in a place that is quite frankly dilapidated. If you look at the traveller photographs, they... More

The name of the hotel does not reflect the past emminence of this rich area in Alloa. An older hotel presumably relying on its laurels to survive. Reception was not occupied upon arrival. Reception in the bar was accompanied by four drunk men. Our room was acceptable. Wi-fi worked efficiently. Played safe with dinner and had fish n chips, good.... More

We went for a family meal. There were six of us. The hotel is dated and dirty. The food was utterly disgusting. The prices are reasonable but you would be better staying home for some scrambled egg on toast.

As other reviewers have commented, this Hotel is old and rooms are old fashioned. However there is little to chose from if you want to stay in Alloa. Not really a holiday maker's Hotel, more a working man's base. However my room ( number 9) was comfortable and breakfast was very good and served in a friendly manner by Ryan.... More
