we stayed at this campsite for 2 nights. firstly let me say that the site has stunning views of St Mary's Loch and the surrounding mountains. Absolutely perfect location sadly the site is very very basic. The owner greeted us and was very nice. We were told we couldn't actually take our car onto the field to unload and were... More

For Tibbie Shiels read Fawlty Towers! Gate closed when we arrived,no record of our booking. Chef had to phone manager to get him back to book us in,room clean but very basic, shower tepid, leaked and mouldy sealant around base. Optics not working correctly in bar and no ice available. Meat supposedly from 1 of top 5 butchers in world was pretty... More

Totally overpriced for what is offered! Quite run down and could really do with renovating. It is not what it describes itself as on certain hotel websites! We drove for 3 hours to get to Tibbie Sheils, we stayed for 10 mins then left without obtaining a refund and drove for another 2 hours to find another place to stay.... More

Absolutely loved this site. Stayed in a tourer. Yes it's rustic. Yes it's basic. No there's not a shop n yes you may struggle to get a seat in the inn for a meal. But if you want to get back to nature in a place with spectacular views and amazing character this is it. Situated between 2 lochs. Showers... More

The inn is situated by a beautiful loch and has superb views out to the loch and surrounding hills. We just stopped by for a coffee & soft drink but were really disappointed. Both coffee and soft drinks were awful (my fresh orange and lemonade did not feature fresh orange - it tasted more like diluted orange!). Also the seating... More

Fawlty Towers re-created but in a stunning location. Arrived in a power cut so not a good start. Ordered a pint at the bar but a search had to be mounted for a pint glass. Room very small, no TV and not even a clock. No cold water or toilet flush due to power cut. When water returned, the plumbing... More

And dogs allowed in. We only had a drink as they weren't serving food when we visited which was a pity as we were hungry. Friendly pub, don't know what the rooms are like, it's a bit dark inside, but could easily be made more attractive.

Son & I had a night here with the campervan. Lovely weather, great walking on lochside and loads of room to run around and play in the field. But loo block unfinished, no showers (which is fine for lads for one night, however) forgot to shut window on van as dusk approached and was joined by several thousand midges, not... More

We booked into this hotel because of the location, expecting somewhere interesting and because we didn't want anywhere corporate or anonymous. Unfortunately the whole place is pretty tired and run down with much poorer amenities compared with other hotels charging the same prices. Our room was small, with no TV - although the plug sockets and arial were still high... More
