I stay in the Selkirk / Melrose area at least once a month with my 11 year old daughter. WE always stay here. We have stayed in most of the rooms and all of the Lodges. The Lodges are always clean fresh and make you feel you are not in a hotel environment. My daughter loves them. The hotel rooms... more

After a long drive I was more than happy to find tea and cream scones on offer in the charming lounge area. Staff were welcoming and obliging at all times. Rooms were spotless with everything I could need and lovely big tv. At evening meal the steak pie was fantastic and we enjoyed making use of the separate bar area... more

I stayed at the Philipburn for New Year with family & dogs. My sister is disabled & was given every possible help at the hotel, having a spacious room and bathroom big enough for her needs. Staff were friendly & helpful. Meals were superb. The lodges are dog friendly and comfortable. The people who were there for New Year's Eve... more

Stayed at one of the lodges in the hotels grounds. The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful, from arrival to departure. The tv in the lodge was dire, sound & picture quality was poor, couldn't watch any dvd's (we took our own player) - volume kept shooting up & distorting. When we asked for help with this, the owner... more

I stayed for one night with my friend and we enjoyed the location, friendly staff and the hotel's freshness. This hotel is ideal if you want to get away from the busy city life you lead. Selkirk is great base to discover many attractions the Scottish Borders offers. The hotel is fresh, smart and modern in appearance. Ou room was... more

We have just returned from staying at the Philipburn Country House Hotel for a few days. We found that the new owners (Marie & Ian) and their team of staff to be most welcoming, gracious and hospitable. Our room was first class, and the food from both the bistro and fine dining menu to be of an excellent standard, and... more
