Just returned home from our three night annual stay at the Cross Keys. We are a family of 5 who all agree that this year was the best ever. Brass band (us!), village music and a piper on New Years Eve were brilliant. Couldn't fault Mamma Hen (Margaret) and her team, as nothing was too much trouble. Food was fantastic... More

The food at this delightful pub is divine and definitely worth driving out to. We visited on a Sunday evening, the choice on the menu was by no means extensive but there was something for everyone's taste. The drinks are reasonably priced. One of the nicest things about the pub is also that it is dog friendly and the staff... More

We went for a meal here last weekend and were very dissapointed . Our order was taken quickly ,but we waited 45 minutes for our main. Food was good when it did come , apart from one order being slightly wrong. Asked for second round of drinks which didn't arrive , so we had to go get them ourselves. One... More

Good food, good drink, good company. What more can you ask for. Comfy room, and wifi if you want it. A relaxed atmosphere and if you are lucky there is sometimes some "local" music on a Saturday night. Will definitely be back.

Nice warm atmosphere, good selection of local real ales and excellent food. We spent a very enjoyable evening in the pub, having a nice meal and listening to the excellent local band Dere Street, who played an great acoustic set. A fantastic local pub serving quality local produce.

We stopped by for lunch and were not disappointed. . I had parsnip soup with honey and chilli , which was freshly made, and my husband had a great steak n ale pie.. We loved the decor, which is completely appropriate to an old country pub, and in a lovely valley near Selkirk. On a day out, this is the... More

The welcome was excellent the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had an evening meal and breakfast and all the food was very nice and well cooked. Would certainly visit again. The pub is situated in a quiet village not far fro Selkirk, well worth finding.

Had lunch today at the Cross Keys, the bar decor is a delight, it is a step back to what country pubs should be. Well decorated with memrobilia, it would take some time to view it all, something for everyone. The meal was well cooked and presented on the plates with artistic charm My starter of Deep Fried Brie was... More

Have been here several times under different ownership when things were very different. Sadly not felt welcome on arrival, poor service and staff had no knowledge of the ingredients or even how to take an order. Steak was ordered to be medium but what came was well done and not really a steak just a slice of beef that was... More
