I've just returned from the most amazing, relaxing time with my mum. Please don't listen to the awful reviews on here - it really has been an amazing experience. Stobo is clean, beautiful, welcoming and the food is amazing. We stayed for 2 nights and treated ourselves to a room within the hotel - worth the treat if you want... more

I had heard such a lot about Stobo that I thought this was the place to go to for relaxation and quiet recuperation. it is certainly quiet, it is in the middle of beautiful countryside but there is nothing within easy reach. I needed to get to an ATM but there was nothing within reach. It is a pleasant building... more

I stayed overnight with a friend and after having been for a half day before thought that it would be bliss.....wrong!! The grounds and castle are stunning, that cant be taken away from it. We arrived at 3 to be told that our facials were at 5 that day so we were rushing about getting checked in and up to... more

This is genuinely the worst spa ever. Anyone who is impressed by this place has obviously never had proper spa treatments in their life, you sit about waiting in a reception room, often with HOURS between your treatments as you have no say in the time, only to be rushed in an out of the treatment room in half your... more

My friend and I stayed here for one night (Sat) on a Dinner, B & B and Sunday lunch basis, with one treatment each as a girlie pre Christmas treat to ourselves. When we drove into the grounds we were instantly impressed as the setting is most definately second to none, no passing traffic, lush countryside/beautiful gardens/waterfalls etc..... The hotel... more

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Stobo Castle. We received a free upgrade to a gorgeous room with stunning views over the beautiful grounds. The beds are so comfy and I had a wonderful peaceful nights sleep which, when you have small children, is a true luxury. I honestly couldn't fault anything, the staff were very attentive,... more

This place is hyped up so much it’s a huge disappointment. It’s totally overpriced for what you get. The treatments are extortionate & absolutely rubbish. I had a mud wrap & a facial & both were extremely uncomfortable. Mealtimes are also very uncomfortable, you stand in a queue to get in then you are put at a table with a... more

If you are planning to treat yourself to a luxury break in one of Scotlands' top hotels then look elsewhere. This establishment succesfully markets half day and full day spa breaks. It is very busy. The staff there tell me that most travel from the Glasgow area. Despite being residents, when dining, we just had to join the queue. On... more
