We were lucky enough to stay for one night in the cashmere suite and found the room amazing and better in real life than the online pictures. The room, decoration, out of this world bathroom and bedroom were luxury and quality at the highest level, the fine touches like champagne/chocs/fruit on arrival, named robes, private terrace with Helipad outside make... more

My sister, aunty and I took my Mum here for 1 night to celebrate her 60th birthday. They had all been previously but this was my first visit. My sister and I stayed in the Eildon room in the castle. It was gorgeous! Very cosy, heating turned up and plenty of hot water. The beds were very comfortable and the... more

I have been to stobo 4 times, and it is a nice place to stay with friends and relax. However at our most recent visit we noticed that small changes let the hotel down,eg watered down concentrated orange and apple juice for breakfast, and lack of hot water for guest bathrooms. What was most annoying was the curtness of Spa... more

Been to Stobo every year with my mother to blow away the cobwebs for the last few years. This time stayed in the Murray room (deluxe) which was beautiful. The service was excellent. Food greatly improved. The treatments are still overpriced and very tight on the timings. You can easily knock 5 - 10 mins of the advertised times. However... more

I have stayed at Stobo Castle once a year for the last 6 years so I guess that this says a lot about how much I like it! I go every year with a friend and sometimes other friends join us to make a bigger group. We have looked at going to other places, which may be less expensive or... more

After reading through some of the mixed reviews I simply had to leave comment on my own experience. I can honestly say I do not understand any of the negative reviews. My mum and I came here for our 'mother/ daughter hen weekend' and some pampering the week before my wedding and were not disappointed. Check in was smooth and... more

My daughter and I have just returned from an overnight stay at Stobo castle, to celebrate her birthday , stobo was recommended to me by a work colleague, and I wanted this to be special for my daughter. We were not disappointed, from the minute we arrived ( Eleanor at the reception desk) was very pleasant, and her lovely manner... more

Gorgeous place and setting, with all the atmosphere of an old peoples home. No music in the dining room, very bizarre and short menu....trout with apple sauce, chicken with blueberry sauce were 2 out of only 3 options for main course. Latest dining time 7.45pm and no bar to retire to after dinner. Options were to retire to a drawing... more

My sister & me have stayed at Stobo several times it is the most relaxing break you can have, there is no pressure to have treatments or do anything, over ther years we have had treatments, I agree with a previous advisor that they can be expensive which in itself doesn't matter if it's good value however we have found... more

Booked a treat for my friends birthday, we stayed in the castle lodge which was lovely. We both enjoyed our treatments although some like the manicures seemed very expensive but we can highly recommend the thalgo treatments. Loved feeling relaxed in our dressing gowns all day. Only gripe would be at dinner there wasn't much atmosphere in the dining room... more
