Enjoyed a lovely weekend away at the Cringletie. Beautiful house in the borders. Was surprised with a anniversary getaway and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely large bedroom, beautiful grounds. Food was tasty and unique. Would highly recommend.

Disappointed somewhat as we both felt that although the house and grounds are outstanding, there is a clinical atmosphere within. The staff were perfunctory, and that was about it. The breakfast was cold, evening meal was not up to 'gourmet standard", small portions too. We did not feel that we would like to come back at all. Also, it is... More

A comfortable and relaxed 2 day stay which included the gourmet tasting evening. The dinner was very enjoyable - food good and excellent wines. Staff were very friendly and helpful. On the minus side our junior suite though very pleasant was one large room and the buffet breakfast not very inspiring although the cooked items were good.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but if I am going to praise the great I also need to be honest where somewhere is just not up to standard. Booked a two night, b&b break for my fiancées birthday. On the drive up the entrance I was really hopeful that I had found the perfect Scottish retreat. Unfortunately that was... More

Spent three nights here. A lovely setting, very helpful staff and excellent service. Room was superbly equipped. Food was very good but if I had to be critical, I wish the evening menu would be changed more frequently. Excellent wheelchair access though the chair ramp was giving problems when I was there. Would I go back??? Most certainly!

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. We booked a table for Afternoon Tea for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived, they did not seem to be expecting us, and we were seated by an empty fireplace in front of a coffee table. The waiting staff were untrained and addressed as 'youse'. The bread for the sandwiches... More

My two teenagers and I stayed here two nights. I recommend the getaway package as the five course dinner that was included was superb. Our rooms were beautiful, though if you cannot handle stairs, make sure not to get the rooms on the top floor as there are still a number of stairs up from the elevator. They also enjoyed... More

I had a night away with my husband here. It's a lovely drive up to the hotel very secluded and the first glimpse of the hotel is spectacular. We were taken to our room which was on the third floor overlooking the hotel gardens. The room was very nice, clean and spacious however the only thing that let it down... More

We have eaten here several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed and certainly weren't today either. We had bought a Sunday lunch 'deal' which in effect meant we bought one and got one free and it was fantastic value. The three courses were all well cooked and well presented by the conscientious staff if beautiful... More

We decided to travel up to Scotland and use booking.com to find hotels in the area we wanted to stay when we wanted. As we pulled up to Cringletie House up a lovely private road, we were greeted outside by Jeremy the Hotel Manager who warmly welcomed us and immediately made us feel at home. He advised us which was... More
