We really enjoyed our stay at Cringletie. The staff are both friendly and competent. The public rooms are very attractive and peaceful. A joy to spend time in. The food is outstanding. All the dishes using local produce are interesting and excellently cooked. The lamb is the best I have tasted. The extensive grounds are very nice for an evening... more

We were looking for a venue for our wedding and came across Cringletie on the internet, by chance. Their website looks good so we booked. We were not disappointed. Overall, the service is professional, efficient and attentive. The location is superb with excellent grounds. The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished. Our guests all commented that they had a wonderful... more

My fiancee and I started our Scotland vacation at Cringletie House in mid May. Having never been to Scotland we were a bit apprehensive about the drive from the airport, but the drive to Peebles from the airport was simple and quick, probably no more than 35 minutes or so - I did use my TomTom after loading maps of... more

We brought a group of friends,22, in total and without exception everyone fell in love with the place. The tranquility of Cringletie and its surroundings, the charm of the manager and his attention to our every wish, the quality of the food and the high standard of the hotel's rooms made it an unforgettable few days for all of us.... more

I took my husband to Cringletie as a surprise to celebrate his 40th birthday and have to say it was one of the nicest small hotels we've stayed in. The whole place is full of character, from the numerous areas where you can choose to relax with a drink or a book, to the historic walled garden and the finer... more

Great location and extensive grounds. Pet friendly so Fido happy and great walks within the grounds. Restful weekend overall from arriving to leaving. Very comfortable hotel, loved the Library lounge and complimentary afternoon tea. Wonderful ceiling in the restaurant and dinner ,though breakfast was a little disappointing on both days; we noticed a lack of supervision in the restaurant did... more

Our overall experience... more

Everything at this hotel was very well done, from the greeting on arrival to the lovely rooms to the dinner which was excepional with the friendly staff who proved that nothing was a problem. The old house set in beautiful grounds with a stone walled garden where they grow veges for the kitchen. A very inspirational place to stay. more

From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with Cringletie. The hotel, our room (Glentress), food, staff, atmosphere and attention to detail were faultless. A hard-working team who were friendly and attentive combined with the charm of the house meant a superb experience. We will recommended Cringletie and will be back. Compliments to all. more

Lovely situation, warm welcome with the smell of wood burning fires. We booked with Hotel Connections which unfortunalely put us in the poorest rooms. Bed was so soft I had to sleep on the floor. I have a severe back problem, but sleep well in a well supporting bed. I asked to view the superior rooms which were lovely. Our... more
