We did not stay at Cross Keys, but we visited twice for dinner and lunch the next day as it was recommended to us by our friends who are locals. Excellent food, friendly staff, very affordable prices and great bar.

Very spacious and modern family room, enough for myself and two teenage children. The staff were very helpful and the rooms and restaurant were spotlessly clean. The food was good and the drinks were cheap. Would come back here as I had to leave early in morning and never had a chance to explore Peebles.

This is a Wetherspoon hotel and pub. It has been tastefully modernised but kept the look of the 300 year old building. We were gobsmacked by our bedroom. The bed could have slept 3 easily and the shower was equally as big. Of course tea and coffee provided along with quality biscuits and bottled water. It has a lovely sheltered... More

Check-in was easy and un-complicated. Our room was upstairs which might be a problem for some as there is no lift, but helpful staff available if required for luggage transfer. Room quality was great, well appointed and quiet. Excellent food available and of course loads of great beers to try. What more could we want Thanks Whetherspoon's

Highly recommended, great value for Money. Rooms are very modern and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Couldn't believe the fantastic price of the rooms. Staff all friendly and helpful and the food was also very nice.

Cross Keys is a lovely hotel but could be doing with a sign at front door regarding reception as there isn't one and we had to walk around the hotel to find someone to show us to rooms. Our friends stayed in room 3 which was lovely looking over a beautiful beer garden with nice bay windows. We had the... More

We have eaten and stayed in a lot of Wetherspoons and this is, by far, the best one we have been to. As soon as you walk in you can see the inside is very clean, very tidy and very well maintained. The food was presented fresher than we had experienced in any other Wetherspoons. The staff were continually tidying... More

What can we say but thanks for the very positive review and for taking the time to write it! Too often our staff are overlooked as they do work very hard in a difficult industry, so we will pass your comments on to them. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back to the Cross Keys... More

This is a modern roomy hotel in an excellent location just off the high street. The old building is perfectly suited for visiting the lovely town. The pub is very busy with inexpensive beer and food. The staff was very helpful although as others have mentioned, there is no reception area and the office was unoccupied most of the time.

First impressions count ..... upon arrival, Michael, Duty Manager, offered to carry the bags to our room and this gesture got us off to a 'good start'! Overall we were very impressed with everything, and should we return to Peebles, The Cross Keys would without hesitation be our first choice for accommodation.
